Controls certain fungal diseases in Barley, Wheat and Peanuts as specified in the Directions for Use

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Restraints
Cereals only: DO NOT apply more than 2 applications of AMISTAR XTRA (or any other strobilurin or Group 3 fungicide) in any one season on the same paddock.
DO NOT exceed a combined total of 800 mL/ha of AMISTAR XTRA in any one season on the same paddock.

BARLEY
Diseases: Leaf Rust (Puccinia hordei), Net Blotch: Net Form (Pyrenophora teres f. teres), Spot Form (Pyrenophora teres f. maculata)
Rate/ha: 200 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Apply from jointing (Z30) and before infection averages 10% on the flag-2 leaf. Ensure thorough coverage of stems and leaves. Use higher rates under high infection pressure or when longer residual protection is required. Lower rates are effective under low disease pressure but have reduced residual effect.
Repeat application at early booting stage if necessary. Two applications of the lower rate will generally provide better control than a single application at the higher rate.
Addition of ADIGOR® at 2 % v/v improves disease control, especially at the lower rate.

Diseases: Powdery Mildew (Blumeria graminis hordei)
Rate/ha: 400 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Spray at the first sign of the disease during the tillering stage. A repeat spray 21 to 28 days later may be required. Ensure thorough coverage of stems and leaves. Higher rates provide longer protection.

PEANUTS
Diseases: Early Leaf Spot (Cercospora arachidicola)
Late Leaf Spot (Cercosporidium personatum)
Net Blotch (Phoma arachidicola)
Rust (Puccinia arachidicola)
Rate/ha: 500 to 750 mL
Critical Comments: Apply 1 to 2 applications of AMISTAR XTRA at 10 to 14 day intervals from first flowering and before disease symptoms appear or when disease pressure is low.
Use the low rate when disease pressure is low eg early season plantings, and use higher rates when weather conditions favour disease development and/or the crop has a large canopy.
When targeting Net Blotch, or when weather conditions are not favourable for application, add a non-ionic surfactant at its recommended use rate.
Resistance Management
Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogens less sensitive to AMISTAR XTRA develop.
DO NOT use AMISTAR XTRA curatively.
DO NOT apply more than 1/3 of the total number of fungicide applications per crop as AMISTAR XTRA. For example, if the total number of fungicides applied to the crop is 9, DO NOT apply more than 3 applications of AMISTAR XTRA. DO NOT exceed 3 applications of AMISTAR XTRA per crop. DO NOT apply more than 2 consecutive applications of AMISTAR XTRA.
DO NOT apply more than 5 DMI sprays per season. AMISTAR XTRA contains a DMI fungicide and should be included in the total number of DMI sprays.

WHEAT
Diseases: Leaf Rust (Puccinia triticina)
Rate/ha: 400 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Apply after flag leaf is 70% emerged and before disease levels reach 1% of flag leaf area. Consider control if disease is greater than 5 to 10% on any lower leaf layer. Use higher rates under high infection pressure or when longer residual protection is required. Lower rates are effective under low disease pressure but have reduced residual effect. Ensure thorough coverage.

Diseases: Powdery Mildew (Blumeria graminis tritici)
Rate/ha: 400 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Spray at the first sign of the disease during the tillering stage. A repeat spray 21 to 28 days later may be required. Ensure thorough coverage of stems and leaves. Higher rates provide longer protection.

Diseases: Stem Rust (Puccinia graminis f.sp. tritici)
Rate/ha: 400 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Apply at or prior to the first signs of disease. Ensure thorough coverage. Failure to apply AMISTAR XTRA before Stem Rust becomes well established in the crop may result in reduced disease control. Use the higher rate under high infection pressure or when longer residual protection is required. Continue to monitor crops after application and consider a second fungicide application if conditions continue to favour disease development.

Diseases: Stripe Rust (Puccinia striiformis)
Rate/ha: 400 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Spray at the first sign of the disease and before 10 to 20% of leaves are infected. A repeat spray 21 to 28 days later may be required. Use higher rates under high infection pressure or when longer residual protection is required.

Diseases: Yellow Spot (Pyrenophora tritici-repentis)
Rate/ha: 400 to 800 mL
Critical Comments: Apply once between 70% flag leaf emergence and early flowering. Use higher rates under high infection pressure or where longer residual protection is required. Apply after 70% flag leaf emergence and before disease levels reach 5% on flag leaf. Higher rates give longer residual protection and often better economic returns.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION

WITHHOLDING PERIODS
Barley, Wheat:
Grazing: DO NOT GRAZE OR CUT FOR STOCK FEED FOR 21 DAYS AFTER APPLICATION
Harvest: DO NOT HARVEST FOR 6 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION
Peanuts:
Grazing: DO NOT GRAZE OR CUT FOR STOCK FEED FOR 14 DAYS AFTER APPLICATION
Harvest: DO NOT HARVEST FOR 14 DAYS AFTER APPLICATION

EXPORT SLAUGHTER INTERVAL
DO NOT slaughter animals destined for export within 7 days of consumption of treated cereal forage or straw, or peanut forage or fodder.

WARNING
Azoxystrobin is extremely phytotoxic to certain apple varieties.
AVOID SPRAY DRIFT. Extreme care must be used to prevent injury to apple trees.
DO NOT spray AMISTAR XTRA where spray drift may reach apple trees.
DO NOT spray when conditions favour drift beyond the area intended for application. Conditions which may contribute to drift include thermal inversions, excessive wind speed, certain spray nozzle/pressure combinations, small spray droplet size, etc.
DO NOT use spray equipment which has been previously used to apply AMISTAR XTRA to spray apple trees. Even trace amounts can cause unacceptable phytotoxicity.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Mixing
AMISTAR XTRA is a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation that mixes readily with water and is applied as a spray.
1. Partly fill the spray tank with water
2. Start the agitation
3. Add the correct amount of product to the spray tank with the agitation system running
4. Continue agitation while topping up the tank with water and while spraying
5. Use the spray mix within 24 hours of preparation

Growing Conditions
In general AMISTAR XTRA should be applied under good growing conditions with adequate soil moisture. AMISTAR XTRA should not be applied to crops that are under stress due to very dry, very wet, frosty conditions, nutrient deficiency or high insect pressure, as this may give less than reliable results.

Spray Timing
Always inspect crops to assess disease development immediately before spraying. Best results will be achieved from applications made in the earliest stages of disease development or as a protectant treatment following a disease risk assessment.
Cereals: Applications of AMISTAR XTRA should be made within the crop growth stages ranging from tillering to early flowering (Z26 to Z62). The object of spraying is to keep the upper 2 to 3 leaves green and functioning through grain filling stage.
Peanuts: The object of spraying is to control diseases and stop defoliation during pegging or pod fill stages to ensure stems are sufficiently strong for harvesting.

Application
May be applied by boom spray or aircraft. Ensure complete coverage of all leaves and stem is obtained.
Cereals:
Boom Application: As a guide, apply in spray volumes ranging from 50 to 100 L water per hectare. The use of flat fan nozzles is recommended using a fine to medium quality spray pattern, with pressures in the range 100 to 400 kPa.
Aerial Application: As a guide, apply using 20 to 30 L water per hectare using a fine to medium quality spray. Use the lower rate when applications are made with a cross wind of not less than 5 knots. Use the higher rates when applying to dense crops.
Peanuts:
Boom Application: As a guide, apply in spray volumes ranging from 150 to 500 L water per hectare. The use of hollow cone nozzles or flat fans is recommended using a fine to medium quality spray pattern, with pressures in the range of 500 to 1000 kPa for the hollow cones and 150 to 300 kPa for flat fan nozzles.
Aerial Application: As a guide, apply 25 to 60 L water per hectare using a fine to medium quality spray. Use with the lower rate when applications are made with a cross wind of not less than 5 knots. Use the higher rates when applying to dense crops.

Compatibility/Tank Mixing
AMISTAR XTRA is physically compatible with a wide range of products, however the biological compatibility of these mixtures may not have been fully tested under all environmental and biological conditions.
A mixture of AMISTAR XTRA with any other product may in some circumstances be ineffective or may cause damage.
If tank mixes are to be used observe all directions, precautions and limitations on all products to be used.
As formulations of other manufacturer’s products are beyond the control of Syngenta, and the quality of water may vary with location, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities.

Fungicide Resistance Warning
AMISTAR XTRA Fungicide is a combination of a DMI and a strobilurin and related products fungicide. For fungicide resistance management AMISTAR XTRA is both a Group 3 and a Group 11 fungicide.
Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to AMISTAR XTRA and other Group 3 and/or Group 11 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungi population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by AMISTAR XTRA or other Group 3 and/or Group 11 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss.
Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Syngenta Australia Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of AMISTAR XTRA to control resistant fungi.
