For the control of certain annual broadleaf weeds in winter cereals as per the Directions For Use Table

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Aptitude Herbicide is an early post-emergence herbicide for the control of certain broadleaf weeds in winter cereals. Aptitude Herbicide is a fast acting contact herbicide and controls weeds through a process of membrane disruption and inhibition of photosynthesis at photosystem II.
The foliar uptake of Aptitude Herbicide is rapid and plant desiccation can occur within 1 to 4 days of application. Application of Aptitude Herbicide should target small actively growing weeds. Subsequent germinations will not be controlled.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Restrains:
DO NOT tank mix Aptitude Herbicide with any wetter, crop oil concentrates or blended oil / surfactant adjuvants (See compatibility section).
DO NOT tank mix Aptitude Herbicide treatments with selective grass herbicides.
DO NOT apply Aptitude HErbicide before the three leaf stage of cereals.
DO NOT apply to cereals under sown with legumes.
DO NOT apply Aptitude Herbicide to winter cereals by aircraft.

Key Features of Aptitude Herbicide

  • Fast-acting contact herbicide: Aptitude Herbicide works quickly to disrupt cellular membranes and impede photosynthesis, effectively desiccating weeds within 1 to 4 days of application.

  • Broad-spectrum control: Aptitude Herbicide effectively controls a wide range of broadleaf weeds, including annual bluegrass, chickweed, cleavers, shepherd's purse, and wild oats.

  • Versatile application: Aptitude Herbicide can be applied to a variety of winter cereal crops, including barley, wheat, and oats.

  • Easy mixing and application: Aptitude Herbicide comes in a water-dispersible granule (WDG) formulation that is easy to mix and apply using conventional spray equipment.

  • Minimal phytotoxicity: Aptitude Herbicide is designed to minimize phytotoxicity to treated crops, with low risk of crop damage.

Application Timing and Conditions

Aptitude Herbicide should be applied to actively growing weeds in winter cereals. Ideal application timing occurs when crops are at the 3-leaf to early/mid tillering stage (Zadok's code 13 to 25), prior to crop canopy closure. For optimal results, weeds should be small and exposed, not shielded by other weeds or the crop canopy.

Aptitude Herbicide is rainfast within one hour of application, making it a flexible and reliable tool for weed management.

Benefits of Using Aptitude Herbicide

  • Improved crop health and yield: Aptitude Herbicide helps to control weeds that compete for valuable nutrients and water, allowing crops to thrive and maximize yield potential.

  • Reduced herbicide resistance: The combination of carfentrazone (Group G) and metribuzin (Group C) herbicides in Aptitude Herbicide provides a diverse mode of action, helping to minimize the risk of herbicide resistance development.

  • Enhanced environmental stewardship: Aptitude Herbicide has a limited soil activity and does not leave any residues that could harm non-target plants or aquatic organisms.

  • Economical and cost-effective: Aptitude Herbicide offers excellent value for money, providing effective weed control with a simple and convenient application method.
