GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Product Overview: This product is a pre- and post-emergence herbicide designed for selective control of various weeds and grasses in specific crops. It is effective in crops such as Canola (Triazine Tolerant varieties only), Sorghum, Maize, Sweet Corn, Sugar Cane, Lupins, Broom Millet, Saccaline, Forage Sorghum, and others. The mode of action involves root absorption, and its efficacy is dependent on rainfall or irrigation to move it into the weed root zone.

Maximum Application Rates:

  • In all crops except plantation forestry, the maximum rate of atrazine application is limited to 3kg a.i. atrazine/ha per year.
  • For plantation forestry, the maximum rate varies based on soil type: 4.5kg a.i. atrazine/ha per year in sandy soils and highly erodible soils, and 8kg a.i. atrazine/ha per year in clay loam and heavier textured soils.

Mixing Instructions:

  • Fill the vat 60-80% full with clean water before adding Atrazine 900 DF.
  • Agitate the vat vigorously during mixing and spraying operations.
  • Pour the required amount of Atrazine 900 DF steadily into the vat to allow for complete dispersion. Do not dump it all at once.
  • Thorough agitation of the spray liquid should continue throughout the spraying operation.
  • Important Note: The spray solution should not be left standing in the vat overnight.

Incorporation (Pre-plant and At Sowing Application):

  • The product relies on root absorption, and sufficient rainfall or irrigation is crucial for its activation.
  • Mechanical incorporation using light harrows is required, especially in flood or furrow irrigation situations.
  • It is recommended to apply the product to an even, unridged seedbed.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

  • The product belongs to Group C herbicides. Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to Atrazine 900 DF and other Group C herbicides may exist.
  • Monitoring and reporting of resistance incidents are advised. An Integrated Weed Management Strategy for TT Canola is recommended.

Summer Crops Application:

  • Timing of application is critical, especially to avoid excessive concentrations in the seed furrow following heavy rains.
  • Different application methods and timings are recommended for optimal results.

Compatibility:

  • The product is compatible with diquat and other residual herbicides such as diuron.
  • In sugar cane, the addition of sodium 2,4-D is suggested for short-term suppression of Nutgrass and other sedges.

Precautions:

  • Re-entry period: Do not enter treated areas without protective clothing until the spray has dried.
  • Protection of crops, native and non-target plants: Avoid spraying desirable plants, especially at high rates on heavier soils with shallow-rooted plants.
  • Protection of wildlife, fish, crustaceans, and the environment: Avoid application near lakes or dams, channels, and drains. Prevent drift into adjacent areas, particularly wetlands and water bodies.
  • Planting restrictions apply, and careful consideration of application conditions is essential.
