For the post-emergence control of certain broadleaf weeds in rice as specified in the DIRECTIONS FOR USE table.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
RESTRAINT
DO NOT apply if rain is expected within 8 hours.

RICE
Weeds: Dirty Dora (Cyperus difformis), starfruit (Damasonium minus), arrowhead (Sagittaria montevidensis), water plantain (Alisma plantago aquatica), seedling cumbungi (Typha spp.)
Rate: 2.0 – 2.5 L/ha
Critical Comments: Apply when weeds have 4 to 6 leaves (typically 20 to 35 days after sowing, depending on temperatures).
Use the higher rate for large weeds.
For optimum Dirty Dora control, apply in a program after an aquatic herbicide effective on this weed, and apply to younger weeds up to 35 days after sowing. Application to heavy or advanced populations of Diry Dora may result in inadequate control. In these situations additional MCPA 250 (sodium or sodium/potassium salt form only), up to 1L/ha, may improve the level of control, but it may still be less than desired.
Apply no later than rice panicle initiation.
Lower water levels to expose all weeds and soil surface prior to application.
Submerged weeds will not be controlled.
Floodwater can be re-applied 8 hours after application.
Do NOT apply more than once per season to any one crop.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

WITHHOLDING PERIOD:
HARVEST - NOT REQUIRED WHEN USED AS DIRECTED.
GRAZING - DO NOT GRAZE OR CUT FOR STOCK FOOD FOR 7 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
BASAGRAN M60 is a selective post-emergence herbicide for the control of certain broadleaf weeds in rice. It is combination of bentazone and MCPA. As a foliar herbicide, good coverage is essential. Application should be made to fully exposed weeds, prior to flowering. Best results will be achieved when application is made to actively growing weeds.

HERBICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING
GROUP C I HERBICIDE
BASAGRAN M60 Herbicide is a member of the benzothiadiazole and phenoxy groups of herbicides. The product has the inhibitor of photosynthesis at photosystem II and disruptor of plant cell growth modes of action. For weed resistance management, BASAGRAN M60 is a Group CI Herbicide.
Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to BASAGRAN M60 Herbicide and other Group C or I Herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if BASAGRAN M60 or other Group C or I Herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by this product, or other Group C or I Herbicides.
Since occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, BASF Australia Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of BASAGRAN M60 Herbicide to control resistant weeds.

PRECAUTION
Do not use human flaggers unless they are protected by engineering controls such as enclosed cabs.

RE-ENTRY PERIOD
Do not allow entry into treated areas until spray has dried. When prior entry is necessary, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.

MIXING
This product mixes readily with water. Half fill the spray tank with water and with agitation running, add the required amount of BASAGRAN M60 Herbicide. Allow product to mix before adding any MCPA 250 the remainder of the water.

WATER MANAGEMENT
BASAGRAN M60 is a foliar contact herbicide and therefore thorough coverage of the foliage is essential. Hence it is necessary to lower water levels to expose all weeds and soil surface. Submerged weeds will not be controlled. Floodwater can be re-applied 8 hours after application.
After application of BASAGRAN M60 Herbicide, do not drain rice water into regional drains for 21 days or for the period set by the local irrigation or environment authority, whichever is the greater.

APPLICATION
Thorough coverage of weed foliage is essential.
GROUND APPLICATION: Apply by vehicle mounted boom, calibrated to deliver a minimum 100 L/ha.
AERIAL APPLICATION: Apply with aircraft fitted with conventional flat fan or hollow cone nozzles, calibrated to deliver a minimum of 40 L/ha. Do NOT apply under hot, dry conditions which could adversely affect spray deposition on the target weeds.

COMPATIBILITY
This product is compatible with Londax DF and MCPA 250 (sodium or sodium/potassium salt only) Herbicide.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE VEGETATION AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS
Do NOT apply under weather conditions, or from spraying equipment, that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands, pastures or aquatic areas.
Avoid spray drift onto susceptible crops such as cotton, tobacco, tomatoes, vines, lupins, fruit trees and ornamentals.
