GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

MIXING

To ensure even mixing, half-fill the spray tank with clean water and add the required amount of product. If required, add compatible products and agitate thoroughly, then add the remainder of the water. Agitate again before spraying commences.

APPLICATION

Ensure thorough coverage of plants, especially the underside of leaves and young grape bunches.

Dilute Spraying

  • Use a sprayer designed to apply high volumes of water up to the point of run-off and matched to the crop being sprayed.

  • Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy. Apply sufficient water to cover the crop to the point of run-off. Avoid excessive run-off.

  • The required spray volume to achieve point of run-off may be determined by applying different test volumes, using different settings on the sprayer, from industry guidelines or other expert advice.

  • Add the amount of product specified in the Directions for Use table for each 100 L of water. Spray to the point of run-off.

  • The required dilute spray volume to achieve point of run-off will change and the sprayer set up and operation may also need to be changed, as the crop grows.

Concentrate Spraying

  • Use a sprayer designed and set up for concentrate spraying (that is a sprayer which applies water volumes less than those required to reach the point of run-off) and matched to the crop being sprayed.

  • Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy using your chosen water volume.

  • Determine an appropriate dilute spray volume (See Dilute Spraying above) for the crop canopy. This is needed to calculate the concentrate mixing rate.

  • The mixing rate for concentrate spraying can then be calculated in the following way:

EXAMPLE ONLY: (i) Dilute spray volume as determined above: For example 1500 L/ha (ii) Your chosen concentrate spray volume: For example 500 L/ha (iii) The concentration factor in this example is: 3 X (i.e. 1500 L ÷ 500 L = 3) (iv) If the dilute label rate is 80 mL/100 L, then the concentrate rate becomes 3 x 80, that is 240 mL/100 L of concentrate spray.

  • The chosen spray volume, amount of product per 100 L of water, and the sprayer set up and operation may need to be changed as the crop grows.

  • Do not use a concentrate rate higher than that specified in the Critical Comments.

  • For further information on concentrate spraying, users are advised to consult relevant industry guidelines, undertake appropriate competency training and follow industry Best Practices.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING

GROUP 3 FUNGIC

IDE

Belanty Fungicide is a member of the DMI group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management, Belanty Fungicide is a Group 3 fungicide. Some naturally-occurring individual fungi resistant to Belanty Fungicide and other Group 3 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by Belanty Fungicide or other Group 3 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, BASF Australia Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Belanty to control resistant fungi.

COMPATIBILITY

Belanty Fungicide is physically compatible with the following products in a two-way tank-mix (maintain constant agitation throughout):

Fungicides: Acrobat 500 SC, Captan WG, Kocide Blue Xtra 350 WG, Kumulus 800 DF, Phyton Systemic Copper, Polyram 750 DF, Scala 400 SC, Serenade Opti Biofungicide WP, Serifel Biofungicide WP, Tri-Base Blue 190 L, Vivando 500 SC, Zampro SC, Ziram Granuflo 750 WG

Insecticides: Altacor 350 WG, Belt 480 SC, Chess 500 WG, Confidor 200 SC, Danisaraba 200 SC, Delegate 250 WG, Lorsban 500 SC, Movento 240 SC, Proclaim 44 SG, Success Neo 120 SC, Wetcit, Valagro Brexil Calcium, NitroCal.

Belanty is not compatible with Dithane Rainshield Neo Tech 750 WG.

Mixes with Bravo Weather Stik 720 SC, Fortuna Globe 750 WG, Mancozeb 750 DF, Penncozeb 750 DF or Switch WG may result in slight particulate formation.

As formulations of other manufacturer’s products are beyond the control of BASF, and the quality of water may vary with location, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. Physical compatibility of products does not necessarily guarantee biological compatibility. When determining physical compatibility of a product not listed above, or in mixes with Belanty more than a two-way mix, conduct a jar test prior to mixing commercial quantities.

Belanty Fungicide is a suspension concentrate (SC) formulation. When using in a tank mix with other products, the following mix order should be observed:

  1. Half fill the spray tank with water. Maintain constant agitation;

  2. Add solid formulation types such as water dispersible granule (WDG/WG), wettable powder (WP), water soluble granule (SG) formulated products first and allow dispersion

  3. Add simple liquid formulations such as Efficon (soluble concentrate (SL)) or liquid suspension formulations such as suspension concentrate (SC) formulations including Belanty Fungicide

  4. Add any liquid formulations for dispersion such as emulsifiable concentrate (EC) and liquid formulation emulsions such as micro-emulsions (ME) formulations

  5. Add any water-soluble salts

  6. Add any adjuvants as required

  7. Add any foliar fertilizer as required

  8. Add remaining water

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT

Very toxic to aquatic life. DO NOT contaminate wetlands or watercourses with this product or used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL

Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. DO NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight. Triple-rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on site. If recycling,

replace cap and return clean containers to recycler or designated collection point. If not recycling, break, crush or puncture and deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility. If an approved waste management facility is not available, bury the empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots, in compliance with relevant local, state or territory government regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.
