GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Usage Guidelines: Velifer Biological Insecticide is most effective on low pest populations to maintain pressure below the economic damage threshold. Although the efficacy of Velifer Biological Insecticide at 90 mL/100 L (0.09%) may not be as high as that of chemical products, it is considered sufficient for managing pest populations under normal conditions. Apply sufficient Velifer/water mixture to achieve full crop coverage without runoff. Good coverage is essential for effective treatment. Velifer is a contact insecticide, and ensuring that the spores make contact with all insects is essential for treatment efficacy. Due to UV sensitivity, it's recommended to apply Velifer during the afternoon or evenings. Mixed volumes should be applied as soon as possible and not left overnight or standing in the sun to maintain efficacy. Velifer does not leave residues in harvested crops. Heavy rain or overhead irrigation within one day of treatment may reduce efficacy by washing spores off, requiring a repeat treatment.
MIXING
Shake well before use. Ensure all application equipment is clean before use. Half-fill the spray tank with water and start agitation. Before opening the bottle of Velifer, agitate it by repeated inversions to re-suspend fungal spores that may have settled during transport and storage. Add the required quantity of Velifer while maintaining agitation. Continuous agitation must be maintained until spraying is complete. Thoroughly clean all application equipment with water before storage.
COMPATIBILITY
Contact BASF technical representative 1800 558 399 for more information on compatibility.
INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT
Use additional chemical control measures to minimize the risk of resistance to Velifer biological insecticide developing with repeated, ongoing use.
Precautions: Not for domestic use. Do not enter treated areas until spray has dried or dissipated and enclosed areas have been thoroughly ventilated, unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Avoid spraying while bees are actively foraging to protect honey bees and other insect pollinators. DO NOT contaminate wetlands or watercourses with this product or used containers.
STORAGE AND DISPOSAL
Contains live biological components. Do not allow freezing. Store between 4° - 20°C. Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Triple rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to the spray tank. DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site. If not recycling, dispose of empty packaging at an approved waste management facility or bury it below 500 mm below the surface in compliance with relevant regulations. Do not burn empty containers or product.
SAFETY DIRECTIONS
Contains Beauveria bassiana strain PPRI 5339. Micro-organisms may have the potential to provoke a sensitizing reaction. May irritate the eyes. Avoid eye contact. Wear appropriate protective clothing, gloves, and a disposable mist face mask when handling and using the product. Wash hands and contaminated clothing after use.
