GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Mode of Action:

• AC Big Dog 540 Herbicide is a water-soluble liquid herbicide, non-selective, controlling a wide range of emerged annual and perennial weeds.
• It provides no residual activity and is inactivated upon soil contact.
• Absorbed by plant leaves and stems, translocated through the plant, inhibiting a plant enzyme, causing breakdown in the metabolic pathway leading to plant death.
• Visual effects include gradual wilting, yellowing, and complete plant browning.
• Time for effects varies based on translocation speed influenced by climatic conditions.
• Best results obtained when plants are actively growing and not under stress.

Application:

• Rainfastness: Delay spraying if rainfall is expected; rain within 1 hour causing run-off may require retreatment.
• Crop Establishment: Do not sow until a suitable seed bed is present; light cover of seedling annual weeds may allow sowing in one hour.
• Mixing and Application: Boom spray, aircraft, knapsack, handgun, or wiper equipment.
• Boom Application: Spray volumes of 25-100 L water/ha recommended with fan nozzle at pressures of 240-280 kPa.
• Wiper Equipment: Use in specific situations, apply at least 15cm above the crop, operate at least 10cm above the crop, lower speeds recommended.
• Aerial Application: Minimum spray volume of 20 L/ha for Micronair and boom equipment; droplet size should be 250-350 micron, swath width 15-17 meters.

Rates:

• Rate: 660 mL of product to 2 litres of water.
• Application in hot conditions: Increase water volume and droplet size if temperature reaches 25°C.

Surfactant:

• Addition of surfactant may improve control; suggested rates provided. Do not add oils or chemicals not directed on the label.
• For aquatic weeds, use only high-quality non-ionic surfactants approved for aquatic situations.

Compatibility:

• The product may be mixed with various products for weed control and broadening the spectrum.
• Additives: Crystalline ammonium sulfate may minimize antagonism with flowable triazine herbicides.
• Test quality of ammonium sulfate before use.

Equipment Maintenance and Usage:

• Use only plastic or plastic-lined containers for storage, mixing, or application.
• Thoroughly wash application equipment to prevent corrosion.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

• AC Big Dog 540 Herbicide is a Group M herbicide; resistant weeds may exist. Axichem Pty Ltd accepts no liability for losses due to resistance.

Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

• Product is non-selective; avoid spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, adjacent crops, crop land, or pastures.
• Do not use before transplanting tomato seedlings.

Protection of Livestock:

• No withholding period, but removal of stock may be necessary.
• Remove stock for 1 day after treatment of annual weeds, 7 days after treatment of perennial weeds.
• Do not allow grazing on treated plants until complete browning.

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:

• DO NOT contaminate dams, rivers, or streams.
• Follow label directions when controlling weeds near water.

Precautions:

• DO NOT store, mix, or apply the product in unlined steel or galvanized containers.
• Use recommended container materials: stainless steel, brass, copper, aluminum, plastic, or plastic-lined fiberglass.
• Store in closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area; avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
• Triple or pressure rinse containers before disposal; do not dispose undiluted chemicals on site.
• For refillable containers, return to the point of supply for refill or storage.
