GROUP A HERBICIDE

For post-emergent control of wild oats and annual ryegrass, and the suppression of annual phalaris in barley and wheat as specified in the DIRECTIONS FOR USE table.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Results are best under good growing conditions, when weeds and crop are actively growing. Application to weeds or crop under stress (eg. due to continuous frosts, dry, waterlogged, nutrient deficient or diseased conditions) or growing in situations of zinc deficiency should be avoided. Refer to Crop Safety below.

Resistant Weeds Warning
Cheetah Gold Selective Herbicide is a member of the aryloxyphenoxypropionate and cyclohexanedione group of herbicides. Cheetah Gold is an inhibitor of acetyl CoA carboxylase. For weed resistance management Cheetah Gold is a Group A herbicide. Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to Cheetah Gold, and other Group A herbicides, may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by Cheetah Gold or other Group A herbicides.
Since occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Cheetah Gold to control resistant weeds.
DO NOT make more than one application of a Group A Herbicide to a crop per season. For further information on herbicide resistance management consult a Bayer CropScience representative, CropLife, trained agricultural consultant or local department agronomist.

Export of Treated Produce
Growers should note that suitable MRLs or import tolerances may not be established in all markets for produce treated with Cheetah Gold Selective Herbicide. If you are growing produce for export, please check with Bayer CropScience Pty Ltd for the latest information on MRLs and import tolerances BEFORE using Cheetah Gold.

Crop Safety
Some crop yellowing and growth retardation may occur within 5 weeks of application. Such adverse crop effects may be more pronounced under wet or waterlogged conditions, or where application is to lush or ‘soft’ crops.
To minimise crop effects, spray overlap or double spraying of corners should be avoided. Increased crop damage has also been noted in situations where wind vortices behind the spray boom have increased spray deposition immediately behind the spray tank. Seek to minimise such conditions.
The application of certain nitrogen foliar fertilizers may also cause adverse crop effects. To avoid compounding effects, do not apply either Cheetah Gold or these foliar fertilisers if symptoms are still evident from a previous application of either product.

Compatibility
Mixtures of Cheetah Gold with broadleaf herbicides may lead to a reduction in grass weed control and/or varying degrees of crop discolouration/damage.
For the latest compatibility recommendations for Cheetah Gold, including advice on adjuvant use when mixing Cheetah Gold with broadleaf herbicides, refer to the most recent edition of the Cheetah Gold Selective Herbicide Compatibility Chart available from your local reseller, the Bayer CropScience Technical Enquiry Hotline 1800 804 479 or the Bayer CropScience website, www.bayercropscience.com.au.
Allow at least 10 days between any application of Cheetah Gold and herbicides containing 2,4-D, 2,4-DB, MCPA or dicamba, except those listed as compatible with Cheetah Gold e.g. Tigrex or MCPA LVE. Cheetah Gold should preferably be applied first.
Cheetah Gold is NOT compatible with zinc and nitrogen foliar fertilizers.

Use of adjuvants
When Cheetah Gold is being applied alone it must be mixed with one of the following adjuvants:
Uptake at 0.5% v/v (i.e. 0.5 L per 100 L of spray mixture),
or Hasten at 1.0% v/v (i.e. 1.0 L per 100 L of spray mixture).
Do NOT mix with non-ionic wetting agents (e.g. BS1000), D-C Trate Advance and Supercharge crop oils when Cheetah Gold is being applied alone.
When Cheetah Gold is to be tank mixed with a compatible product, refer to Cheetah Gold Selective Herbicide Compatibility Chart (see Compatibility above) for advice on adjuvant use.

Application
Ensure that complete and even spray coverage of weeds is achieved. Aim to apply Cheetah Gold to the growing point (base) of weeds. Equipment must be set up to ensure penetration of the crop canopy.

Equipment
Ground Sprayers – Standard boom sprayers only are recommended and must be fitted with by-pass or mechanical agitation. It is recommended that 50 to 150 L water/ha is applied with a droplet size of 200 to 300 microns (application as a FINE/MEDIUM spray as defined by ASAE S572). The use of flat fan nozzles is recommended. Nozzles creating coarse or very coarse spray qualities have not been thoroughly investigated at this time and cannot be recommended. Contact your Bayer CropScience representative for advice before applying this product through such nozzles.
Aircraft – Do NOT apply by aircraft. Application by aircraft is not recommended because of the high potential for spray overlap.

Mixing
When applying Cheetah Gold with Uptake or Hasten, add half the required amount of water to the tank, then add the measured amount of Cheetah Gold with the agitator running. Continue filling to the desired level and then, with the agitator still running, add the required amount of Uptake or Hasten.
Do NOT allow spray mix to sit overnight.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Restraints
DO NOT apply to any crop other than barley or wheat.
DO NOT apply to crops that are physically damaged (e.g. by hail, wind, insect attack).
DO NOT allow spray overlap or double spraying of corners.
DO NOT apply to weeds or crops under stress due to for example, very dry, very wet, nutrient deficient, frosty or diseased conditions, or as the result of a previous herbicide or foliar fertiliser treatment (see also General Instructions).
DO NOT apply if rainfall is expected within 4 hours.
