GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

This product, Choice Trifluralin, must be incorporated into the soil within 4 hours of application, except in Western Australia, where incorporation may occur up to 24 hours before sowing with minimum tillage equipment. Various incorporation methods are specified based on the crop type and stage.

  1. Prior to furrowing out: 2 workings with Offset or Tandem disc harrows.
  2. After furrowing out: 2 workings with Go-Devil discs or Lilliston cultivators.
  3. Rotary Hoe: 1 working at 5-7.5cm depth (7.5-13cm for Sugar Cane).
  4. Offset or Tandem Disc Harrows: 2 workings at an angle, 7.5-15cm depth, 6.5-10km/h.
  5. Heavy Diamond or Stump Jump Harrows: Weighted, cross work with offset or tandem disc harrows.
  6. Weighted Heavy Diamond or Stump Jump Harrows: Cross work with combine at 5-7.5cm depth.
  7. Disc Ratoon Cultivator: 2 workings with discs and cultivator at 7.5-13cm depth.

  9. Rotary Hoe: 1 working at 5-10cm depth.
  10. Offset Discs (Bumpers): 2 workings at 7.5-13cm.
  11. Incorporation by Sowing (IBS) with heavy diamond harrows or separately.
  12. Post-sowing pre-emergence: Heavy diamond harrows at right angles.
  13. IBS with knife or blade points using press wheels.

MIXING:

Choice Trifluralin is an emulsifiable concentrate that mixes readily with water. Add the recommended amount during filling and apply 70-450L of water/ha, depending on soil type and stubble coverage.

CONDITIONS FOR BEST RESULTS:

Thorough incorporation is crucial. Soil should be well worked and free of weeds. High organic matter, excess clods, crop residues, stones, or trash can impact product effectiveness. Trifluralin is volatile, and loss is hastened by high temperatures, winds, or warm moist soil.

INTEGRATED WEED MANAGEMENT:

Use Integrated Weed Management techniques in conjunction with Choice Trifluralin. Agronomic practices that reduce the weed seed bank enhance Trifluralin's effectiveness. Paddocks with high weed seed banks may require additional herbicide treatments.

WILD OATS:

Germinating wild oat seeds on the soil surface won't be controlled. Shallow cultivation is necessary for specific wild oat control. Poor control may occur on self-mulching soils and all soil types with deep cultivation.

COMPATIBILITY:

Choice Trifluralin may be mixed with specified herbicides and insecticides. Conduct a small-scale compatibility test before mixing, and observe any mixing sequence instructions for tank mix products.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND USAGE:

Keep the spray unit for herbicides only, if possible. Thoroughly rinse tanks, pumps, lines, and nozzles with clean water following application. Spraymate Tank & Equipment Cleaner is suitable for this purpose and will remove Trifluralin stains.
