General Instructions:

Product Description: CHROME 480 Herbicide is primarily designed for short residual control of certain annual weeds. It is absorbed by both the roots and foliage of plants, with upward and outward movement within the plant.

Symptoms: The active ingredient, clomazone, inhibits the biosynthesis of chlorophyll and carotenoids, leading to chlorosis (whitening) and necrosis (browning) of foliage in susceptible plants.

Rice Safety: Transient bleaching of rice seedlings may occur, especially at higher rates or in stressed conditions. Certain rice varieties, like Illabong, are particularly susceptible. Avoid application to Illabong varieties established by certain methods or under specific conditions.

Crop Sensitivity: In crops such as cucurbits, beans, poppies, potatoes, and tobacco, increased herbicide activity may occur under certain conditions. Avoid application on soils with low organic carbon content and low clay content, especially on sandy soils.

Compatibility: CHROME 480 can be tank mixed with other herbicides to broaden weed control spectrum. Compatibility varies depending on the crop and herbicide used.

Resistant Weeds Warning: CHROME 480 belongs to the Isoxazolidinones group of herbicides with inhibitors of carotenoid biosynthesis. Weed resistance may develop with repeated use, so rotation with herbicides of different modes of action is recommended.

Mixing and Application: Follow proper mixing procedures, adding CHROME 480 last. Apply with appropriate equipment and nozzles rated for medium or larger droplet size. Ensure proper calibration for accurate application.

Application - Rice: Application techniques vary based on timing and water conditions. Apply before permanent water by ground boom spray or to permanent water by drip applicator. Follow specific guidelines for drip treatment, primer treatment, or single application into permanent water.

Application - Cucurbits, Beans, Poppies, Potatoes & Tobacco: For post-plant pre-emergence or post-emergence application, control emerged weeds before application. Apply as a broadcast or banded application, ensuring young and actively growing weeds. Use proper sprayers and calibrated equipment to minimize off-target movement.

Precautions: Avoid application to wet soils, rough surfaces, or under windy conditions. Follow all safety guidelines and local regulations for herbicide application.

These instructions provide detailed guidance for the safe and effective use of CHROME 480 Herbicide in various crops, helping to achieve optimal weed control while minimizing crop damage and environmental impact.
