GROUP 3 FUNGICIDE

For systemic control of ring spot on brassica vegetables, powdery mildew on cucurbits, grapevines and papaws, pineapple disease of sugarcane and for control of various diseases in turf as specified in the Directions for Use table.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

BRASSICA VEGETABLES (eg. CABBAGE, CAULIFLOWER, BROCCOLI, BRUSSELS SPROUTS)Disease: Ring Spot
Rate: 200 or 400mL/ha plus Agridex* 200 mL/ha
WHP: 7 days
Critical comments: Apply every 10 days. Start the program immediately following the first two consecutive days of rain after transplanting. Use higher rate under heavy disease pressure or when weather conditions favour development of the disease.

CUCURBITS
Disease:
Powdery Mildew
Rate: 40 mL/100 L or 400 mL/ha
WHP: 1 day
Critical comments: Apply a non-Group 3 fungicide such as Morestan* on a schedule commencing as soon as possible after emergence until fruit set. Then either tank mix or alternate CITADEL with a non-Group 3 fungicide such as Morestan on a 5-10 day schedule. Use short spray intervals when disease pressure is high or plants are growing rapidly. Good coverage is essential for good results.

GRAPEVINES
Disease:
Powdery Mildew
Rate:
Dilute spraying: 10 mL/100 L
Concentrate spraying: Refer to the Application section
WHP: 7 days
Critical comments: Apply thoroughly at:
1. When shoots are 10-20 cm long.
2. Pre-flowering.
3. At flowering.
DO NOT allow spray intervals to exceed 21 days.
Follow-up with a non-Group 3 fungicide at:
1. After fruit set.
2. Before bunches close.
Apply by dilute or concentrate spraying equipment. Apply the same total amount of product to the target crop whether applying this product by dilute or concentrate spraying methods.
DO NOT use in equipment that requires rates greater than 50 mL/100 L of water.
DO NOT apply in water volumes less than 250 L/ha.

PAPAWS
State:
Qld, NSW, WA only
Disease:
Powdery Mildew
Rate:
Dilute spraying: 20 mL/100 L
Concentrate spraying: Refer to the Application section
WHP: 7 days
Critical comments: Spray when Powdery Mildew infection begins or when conditions favour the disease.
Repeat applications every 14 days while conditions favour the disease. Ensure thorough coverage of foliage particularly the crown region.
Apply by dilute or concentrate spraying equipment. Apply the same total amount of product to the target crop whether applying this product by dilute or concentrate spraying methods.

SUGARCANE
State:
Qld, NSW only
Disease:
Pineapple Disease
Rate: 20 mL/100 L
WHP: -
Critical comments: Apply to setts by dipping or spraying. Ensure thorough wetting of cut ends.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS:
Harvest
CUCURBITS: DO NOT HARVEST FOR 1 DAY AFTER APPLICATION.
BRASSICA VEGETABLES, GRAPEVINES, PAPAWS: DO NOT HARVEST FOR 7 DAYS AFTER APPLICATION.
Grazing
BRASSICA VEGETABLES: NOT REQUIRED WHEN USED AS DIRECTED.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
FARMOZ CITADEL® Fungicide is a broad spectrum, systemic, foliar fungicide that is quickly taken up by plants and translocated within the plant. In turf, CITADEL provides protection on a monthly spray program and acts curatively after infection has taken place. Because of its systemic activity, CITADEL is less affected by rainfall or irrigation that contact type fungicides.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING
FARMOZ CITADEL® Fungicide is a member of the DMI group of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management CITADEL is a Group 3 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to CITADEL and other Group 3 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungi population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by CITADEL and other Group 3 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, Adama Australia Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of CITADEL to control resistant fungi.

MIXING
Half fill the spray tank or vat with clean water. Then add the required amount of CITADEL with agitator going and top up the tank with water. Agitate thoroughly prior to and during spraying.

APPLICATION
Dilute Spraying (grapevines, papaws)
Use a sprayer designed to apply high volumes of water up to the point of run-off and matched to the crop being sprayed. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy. Apply sufficient water to cover the crop to the point of run-off. Avoid excessive run-off. The required water volume may be determined by applying different test volumes, using different settings on the sprayer, from industry guidelines or expert advice. Add the amount of product specified in the Directions For Use table for each 100 L of water. Spray to the point of run-off. The required dilute spray volume will change and the sprayer set up and operation may also need to be changed, as the crop grows.
Concentrate Spraying
Use a sprayer designed and set up for the concentrate spraying (that is a sprayer which applies water volumes less than those required to reach the point of run-off) and matched to the crop being sprayed. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy using your chosen water volume.
Determine an appropriate dilute spray volume (See Dilute Spraying above) for the crop canopy. This is needed to calculate the
concentrate mixing rate. The mixing rate for concentrate can then be calculated in the following way:
EXAMPLE ONLY
1. Dilute spray volume as determined above: For example 1500 L/ha.
2. Your chosen concentrate spray volume: For example 500 L/ha.
3. The concentration factor in this example is:
3 x (ie 1500 L ÷ 500 L = 3).
4. If the dilute label rate is 10 mL/100 L, then the concentrate rate becomes 3 x 10, that is 30 mL/100 L of concentrate spraying. The chosen spray volume, amount of product per 100 L of water, and the sprayer set up and operation may need to be changed as the crop grows.
For grapevines, DO NOT use a concentrate rate higher than that specified in the Critical Comments because a rate higher than that has not been tested in Adama trials.
For further information on concentrate spraying, users are advised to consult relevant industry guidelines, undertake appropriate competency training and follow industry Best Practices.

COMPATIBILITY
CITADEL is compatible with Baythroid* Turf, Agridex*, Antracol*, Morestan*, Nitofol*, sodium molybdate, white oil, misting oil, water miscible oil.
CITADEL is not compatible with Tokuthion* or chlorpyriphos EC on table grapes.
CITADEL is compatible with chlorpyriphos EC on wine grapes.
DO NOT mix concentrates together but add each to the spray tank separately. As formulations of other manufacturers’ products are beyond the control of Adama Australia Pty. Ltd. all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. As changes in climatic conditions can alter the sensitivity of plants to mixtures of sprays, Adama cannot be responsible for the behaviour of such mixtures.
