DIRECTIONS FOR USE

IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully to ensure the safe and successful use of this product.

ACTIVITY

Clayton Abba contains abamectin, an insecticide and acaricide with contact and stomach activity. It is not systemic but exhibits translaminar movement. Clayton Abba is approved for controlling the two-spotted red spider mite in tomatoes, cucumbers, and ornamental plant production. At higher rates, it also controls nymphs of the Western Flower Thrips in cucumbers and ornamentals, as well as leaf miner larvae in tomatoes. Susceptible pests become inactive shortly after treatment, though death may take several days.

BENEFICIAL INSECTS

Clayton Abba is not recommended for use in integrated pest management (IPM) systems.
When bumblebees are used as pollinators in tomato crops, it is recommended to delay their introduction for at least 24 hours after treatment.

REPEATED USE

Avoid using Clayton Abba too frequently. After two consecutive applications, it is advisable to introduce an alternative product with a different mode of action into the spray program to minimize the selection pressure for resistant strains.

APPLICATION

Apply as a high-volume spray through a hand lance fitted with appropriate nozzles using conventional high-volume hydraulic, powered, or knapsack sprayers. Ensure thorough coverage of stems and both sides of the crop leaves, spraying just before the point of run-off.

MIXING

  1. Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and put it under agitation.

  2. Shake the product container thoroughly before pouring.

  3. Add the required volume of Clayton Abba through the top filter or filling device.

  4. Fill the spray tank to the required level with more clean water, allowing thorough mixing under agitation before use.

  5. Spray immediately after mixing, keeping the mixture under agitation until sprayed out.
Do not let the mixed spray stand in the tank for extended periods.

COMPATIBILITY

The addition of any adjuvant, sticker, or wetting agent is neither required nor recommended. Do not mix with any adjuvant.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

Immediately after use, wash the spraying machine and all utensils thoroughly with clean water and a recommended wetting agent for cleaning application equipment.
