GROUP C HERBICIDE

Controls many broadleaf weeds and annual grasses in cotton.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: For use in cotton.
RESTRAINTS: Do not use on light, sandy soils or soils of low organic content.

Methods of application: Soil incorporated, pre-sowing treatment followed (if required) by pre-emergence band treatment
Rate per HA:
Pre-sowing 1.4 to 2.9 kg
Pre-emergence band 1.1 to 1.7 kg
State: Qld, NSW only
Critical comments: Apply initial treatment just prior to incorporation. Lightly incorporate to a depth of 5 cm using suitable quipment to ensure accurate and even incorporation. Following sowing, apply a further pre-emergence band treatment of Cotogard WG to compensate for the chemical scraped off the top of the hill by the planting operations. Soil should preferably be moist at the time of application and significant rainfall or irrigation is required within 3-5 days of application to incorporate the herbicide into the soil.

Methods of application: Pre-emergence treatment post-sowing treatment
Rate per HA: 1.7 to 2.9 kg
State: Qld, NSW only
Critical comments: Apply immediately after sowing, before weed or crop germination, as an overall or band treatment. The minimum band width should be 40 cm. Soil should preferably be moist at the time of application and significant rainfall or irrigation is required within 3-5 days of application to incorporate the herbicide into the soil.

Methods of application: Post-emergence early spraying
Rate per HA: 855 g to 1.4 kg
State: Qld only
Critical comments: Apply as directed spray to avoid contact with the cotton foliage to control broadleaf weeds and grasses which may have escaped previous herbicide treatments. Apply when the cotton is 30-50 cm high and weeds are not more than 8 cm high and actively growing. Add a non-ionic surfactant at recommended label rates.

Methods of application: Post-emergence lay-by spraying
Rate per HA: 1.1 to 1.9 kg
State: Qld, NSW only
Critical comments: Apply as directed spray underneath cotton foliage in 100-200 litres of water per hectare after the last cultivation before new weed germinations occur, or to weeds not more than 8 cm high and actively growing. Add a non-ionic surfactant at recommended label rates.

Weeds Controlled: Cotogard WG Herbicide controls weeds and grasses including Barley Grass, Barnyard Grass, Bathurst Burr, Bellvine, Blackberry Nightshade, Black Pigweed, Bladder Ketmia, Boggabri Weed, Caltrop (Yellow Vine), Capeweed, Caustic Weed (Qld only), Common Sowthistle, Common Thornapple, Fat Hen, Liverseed Grass, Mossman River Grass, Noogoora Burr, Paterson’s Curse, Peach Vine, Pigweed, Prickly Paddy Melon, Redroot Amaranth, Annual Ryegrass, Sesbania Pea, Slim Amaranth, Summer Grass, Variegated Thistle, Wild Gooseberry, Winter Grass, Yellow Flower Devil’s Claw.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING
FARMOZ COTOGARD® WG residual Herbicide is a member of the triazines and urea group of herbicides. COTOGARD WG has the inhibitors of photosynthesis at photosystem II mode of action. For weed resistance management COTOGARD WG is a Group C herbicide. Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to COTOGARD WG and other Group C herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by COTOGARD WG or Group C herbicides. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Adama Australia Pty. Ltd. accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of COTOGARD WG to control resistant weeds.

MIXING
This product must be mixed with water and applied by suitable spray equipment.
1. Fill vat no more than 25% full with clean water BEFORE adding Cotogard WG Herbicide. Begin agitating vat contents vigorously and continue agitation during entire mixing and spraying operations.
2. Pour required amount of Cotogard WG Herbicide STEADILY into vat. Allow vigorous bypass agitation to completely disperse product.
DO NOT dump product into vat all at once.
3. After adding required quantity of Cotogard WG Herbicide and obtaining COMPLETE DISPERSION, continue to fill vat to desired level for spraying. Thorough agitation of the spray liquid should continue during the entire spraying operation.
Note: Spray solution should NOT be left standing in the vat overnight.

APPLICATION
Use the higher recommended rates on heavy clay soils or soils of high organic content and the lower recommended rates on medium soils. Seed beds must be well prepared and as free as possible from trash and clods. Add a non-ionic surfactant for post-emergence application only.
Ground application: Apply by boom spray using 100 to 200 litres of water per hectare.
Aerial application: Apply in a minimum of 20 litres of water per hectare.

PRECAUTION
Re-Entry Period
DO NOT enter treated areas until spray has dried unless wearing protective clothing.
