GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

  • Imtrade Cougar Selective Herbicide is a post-emergence contact herbicide, effective up to 4 weeks after application.
  • Apply immediately after mixing; do not let it stand in the spray tank overnight.
  • Optimal results occur with good soil moisture and unstressed weeds.
  • Certain pre-emergence herbicides like atrazine may stress crops, especially lucerne and subterranean clover.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

  • Imtrade Cougar Selective Herbicide belongs to the nitrile and nicotinanilide groups, categorized as a Group C, F Herbicide.
  • Weed resistance may occur with repeated use, making resistant weeds unaffected by this herbicide.
  • Imtrade Australia Pty Ltd is not liable for losses resulting from the failure of the herbicide to control resistant weeds.

TEMPERATURE WARNING

  • Do not apply if frosts are imminent, as it can cause stress on crops and weeds.
  • Avoid application when maximum daily temperatures exceed 20°C, as it may lead to increased crop damage.

CROP TOLERANCE

Cereals:

  • Transient crop yellowing may occur but typically won't affect overall development if the crop is not stressed.

Lucerne:

  • Tolerance varies; application before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage is recommended.
  • Some varieties have shown acceptable tolerance, but rates higher than 500 mL/ha may increase damage.

Subterranean Clover:

  • Application before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage is recommended.
  • Some varieties show acceptable tolerance; higher rates may increase damage.

Other Clovers:

  • Application before the 8 trifoliate leaf stage is recommended.
  • Effect on seed yield not determined; exercise caution with sensitive varieties.

Subsequent Crops:

  • Thoroughly cultivate soil before sowing subsequent susceptible crops (e.g., canola) to reduce herbicide effect.

MIXING

  • Half-fill the spray tank with water, add the herbicide, agitate, then add the remaining water.
  • Reseal part-used containers immediately after use.

APPLICATION

  • Boom Sprayer: Use a minimum of 50L/ha, but for optimal results, recommend water rates of 70-100L/ha.
  • Adjust water volume based on weed infestation and crop cover.
  • Ensure complete coverage of weeds, but higher water volumes may increase crop damage symptoms.
