Couraze Classic Insecticide is a broad-spectrum, systemic insecticide that provides long-lasting control against a wide range of insect pests on a variety of crops. It is formulated as a concentrate and is ready to mix with water for application.

Features of Couraze Classic Insecticide

  • Broad-spectrum control: Couraze Classic Insecticide effectively controls a wide range of insect pests, including aphids, beetles, caterpillars, leafhoppers, thrips, and whiteflies.
  • Long-lasting protection: Couraze Classic Insecticide provides long-lasting protection against pests, often up to 30 days. This means that you can apply the product once and get consistent control for an entire growing season.
  • Systemic activity: Couraze Classic Insecticide is absorbed by the plant and translocated throughout the plant, providing protection from both above- and below-ground pests. This makes it a versatile product that can be used on a variety of crops.
  • Low risk of phytotoxicity: Couraze Classic Insecticide is designed to minimize phytotoxicity to treated crops, with low risk of crop damage.
  • Rainfast within one hour: Couraze Classic Insecticide is rainfast within one hour of application, making it a flexible and reliable tool for pest management.

NOTE FOR VEGETABLE CROPS: POTENTIAL MIGRATION OF SILVERLEAF WHITEFLY FROM NEIGHBORING CROPS

Adult silverleaf whitefly (SLWF) are controlled when they ingest a lethal dose of the active ingredient by feeding on a Couraze Classic treated crop. However, in some very susceptible crops and varieties, the migration of large populations of adults from adjacent fields may result in significant feeding damage to the crop, although further reproduction and development of the pest will be prevented. To help prevent such damage, it is important to minimize the migration of adult SLWF into a treated crop, e.g., by applying a 'clean-up' fast-acting insecticide to recently harvested crops. Consideration of factors such as planting sequences and timing, wind direction, variety selection, and general crop hygiene should also be integral to SLWF management. Crops should also be monitored for SLWF adult numbers after the application of Couraze Classic, and appropriate fast-acting insecticides for control of adults should be applied if economic thresholds are reached or excessive adult feeding damage is observed.

MIXING

Prior to pouring, shake the container vigorously, then add the required quantity of Couraze Classic to water in the tank while stirring or with agitators in motion. Couraze Classic requires constant agitation in the tank.

APPLICATION (SUGARCANE)

Plant Cane Application can occur at various stages from planting until hilling-up. Couraze Classic should be applied into the plant drill in a narrow band centered on the cane row. Adjust the application equipment to ensure proper coverage and soil incorporation.

At Planting Fix a spray nozzle on the planter to direct the Couraze Classic spray band at the soil just after covering the setts. Ensure subsequent cutaway cultivations do not disturb the treated band.

At First Working, or at Half-Open Drill, or at Fill-In Apply Couraze Classic as a spray band directed at the base of the young cane shoots. The treated band must be covered with at least 50 mm of soil immediately. Subsequent cultivations must not disturb the treated band.

At Hilling-Up Apply Couraze Classic as twin narrow spray bands on each side of the cane rows directed at the base of the young cane shoots. The treated bands must be covered with at least 100 mm of soil immediately after the final cultivation.

Ratoon Cane Apply only as a subsurface soil application. Ensure proper soil moisture and cover the treated band with at least 100 mm of soil. Use the twin coulter method or single coulter method depending on the circumstances.

APPLICATION (APPLES, BANANAS, VEGETABLES)

Refer to instructions in Critical Comments for each application method. Take precautions during application in bananas to avoid exposure.

APPLICATION (CITRUS)

Ensure the treatment area below the canopy is weed-free. Apply Couraze Classic using different methods like soil drench, drip, or micro-sprinklers. Follow specific guidelines for each method.

NOTE ON ORNAMENTALS

Couraze Classic Insecticide has been used on a wide range of ornamental plant species without damage. However, some species and varieties are particularly sensitive to chemical sprays, so it is advisable to treat only a small number of plants first before treating the entire crop.

COMPATIBILITY

Couraze Classic Insecticide is compatible with propineb and bittertanol. DO NOT mix concentrates together but add each to the spray tank separately. As formulations of other manufacturers' products are beyond the control of Cheminova, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. As changes in climatic conditions can alter the sensitivity of plants to mixtures of sprays, Cheminova cannot be responsible for the behavior of such mixtures.

DILUTE SPRAYING (STONE FRUIT)

Use a sprayer designed to apply high volumes of water up to the point of run-off and matched to the crop being sprayed. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage throughout the crop canopy. Apply sufficient water to cover the crop to the point of run-off. Adjust the water volume and sprayer setup as the crop grows, following industry guidelines or expert advice. Add the specified amount of Couraze Classic for each 100 L of water and spray to the point of run-off.
