GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE is a selective herbicide effective against most annual grasses and certain broadleaved weeds. It works by inhibiting seedling development and does not control established weeds. Follow these guidelines for optimal results:

  1. Seedbed Preparation:

    • Ensure seedbeds are free of weeds, trash, and clods during application.
    • Avoid applying to soils with high organic matter (>6%).
  2. Crop Injury and Staining:

    • Crop injury may occur if CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE is applied to a poorly prepared seedbed or in cold, wet weather.
    • Crops usually recover with improved weather conditions.
    • The herbicide will stain (yellow) objects it contacts, so keep non-target items clear of the product and spray.
  3. MIXING:

    • Put half the required water volume in the spray tank and start agitation.
    • When using CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE alone, add it to a partially filled tank, then complete filling with water. Mix thoroughly.
    • For tank mixes, follow the label instructions of other products, adding CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE last.
  4. APPLICATION METHOD

    Ground Application:

    • Use conventional sprayers with mechanical or by-pass agitation.
    • Flat fan nozzles are recommended.
    • Calibrate spray equipment for proper application.
    • For tank mixtures, use nozzle screens no finer than 50 mesh.
    • Apply the recommended quantity in 50-200 liters of water per hectare.

    Aerial Application:

    • Suitable for specific crops (pre-plant soybeans, cotton, etc.).
    • Apply the recommended quantity in 25-60 liters of water per hectare.
    • Calibrate equipment, use markers, and maintain an accurate swath width. Spray with a crosswind following recommended flying practices.
  5. Incorporation:

    • Thoroughly mix CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE with soil mechanically, by irrigation, or rainfall for even incorporation.
    • Post-plant pre-emergence surface applications are effective with adequate rainfall or irrigation within 7-10 days. Light mechanical incorporation is needed if not.
    • Maize is tolerant if the seed germinates below the treated band but intolerant if in direct contact with the seed.
  6. Cereal Seed Dressings:

    • Be cautious with fungicidal seed dressings that can affect emergence in CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE-treated areas. Ensure good seed depth control.
  7. Weather Conditions for Planting:

    • Crop injury may occur in prolonged cold, wet conditions during germination and emergence. Crops usually recover with improved weather.
  8. FOLLOWING CROPS:

    • Cultivate the soil to a depth of at least 15cm in case of crop failure.
    • Replanting maize in the same year is possible if seedling depth is below the re-tilled area.
    • Different crops can be sown after specific minimal intervals following CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE application.
  9. COMPATIBILITY:

    • CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE is physically compatible with various chemicals, including Atrazine, Diuron, Simazine, Glyphosate, etc.

RESISTANCE WARNING:

  • CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE belongs to the dinitroaniline group (Group 3 Herbicide) with the inhibition of microtubule assembly mode of action.
  • Weed resistance may exist due to genetic variability, and resistant weeds won't be controlled by CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE or other Group 3 Herbicides.
  • Continuous use may lead to resistant weed dominance; monitor for resistance and use integrated weed management practices.
  • Imtrade Australia Pty Ltd accepts no liability for losses resulting from the failure of CYCLONE 440EC HERBICIDE to control resistant weeds.
