GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Farmalinx DAYTONA Herbicide is a pre-emergent herbicide with short residual activity, primarily absorbed by the roots and coleoptiles (shoots) of germinating seedlings, inhibiting growth in the meristematic region. It is effective when applied before or shortly after the germination of target weeds.

Application:

• Apply to a moist, smooth seedbed free of soil clods and emerged weeds for optimal efficacy.

• Avoid areas with high levels of crop residues, stones, or foreign matter, as they may reduce product efficacy.

• Ensure accurate seed placement to avoid placing seeds in the herbicide band, especially in barley and wheat crops.

• Adequate rainfall or irrigation within 10 days of application is necessary for soil movement and weed seed uptake.

Crop Tolerance:

• The selectivity of DAYTONA is maintained by sowing at an adequate depth below the herbicide band.

• Environmental factors such as rainfall and soil type influence product movement into the seed zone.

• Crop injury may occur in sandy soils with high leaching potential or during heavy rainfall between sowing and emergence.

Tillage System:

• Proper incorporation of the product into the soil is crucial within 7 days of application.

• Different tillage systems require specific considerations to ensure proper seed placement and weed control.

Mixing:

• DAYTONA is an emulsifiable concentrate that mixes readily with water.

• Follow the recommended mixing order for tank mixes and maintain thorough agitation during mixing and application.

Sprayer Clean Up:

• Thoroughly clean the sprayer after each use to prevent cross-contamination.

• Rinse the tank, pump, lines, hoses, and nozzles with clean water to remove any herbicide residue.

Compatibility:

• Test all mixtures prior to mixing commercial quantities, as water quality and formulations of other products may vary.

Application Rates:

• Apply by ground rig only in a minimum of 50 L water/ha, with water rate selection based on soil type and stubble load.

• Use a nozzle delivering spray quality in the coarse spray range.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

• DAYTONA Herbicide belongs to the thiocarbamates group and has the inhibitors of fat synthesis mode of action (Group J).

• Resistant weed biotypes may develop if herbicides with this mode of action are overused.

• Efforts should be made to prevent seed set of surviving weeds, and diverse weed management strategies should be implemented to minimize resistance.
