GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

AC Dethrone is a soil residual, broad-spectrum herbicide effective against many annual and perennial grasses, broadleaf weeds, and vines. Optimal results are achieved when applied shortly before weed growth. Prior to application, eliminate well-established weeds through mechanical or other means. Best outcomes are obtained on well-prepared, trash-free soil, preferably moist.

Factors Influencing Results:

  • Soil Type: Effects vary with soil type; lower rates are effective on lighter soils, while higher rates may be needed for control on heavier soils.
  • Environmental Conditions: Effects are slow to appear and depend on environmental conditions. Adequate moisture (12 - 25 mm on moist soils, 25 - 50 mm on dry soils) after treatment is essential for carrying the chemical into the root zone of germinating weeds.
  • Timing of Moisture: Best results occur with rainfall or irrigation within 3 - 4 days after application. Thorough wetting of the treated area is essential with irrigation, but overwatering and runoff should be avoided.

Dosage Information:

  • All dosages are expressed as overall rates. For band treatment, use proportionately less (i.e., half of the overall rate for treating half of the area).

Temporary Chlorosis and Cane Variety Tolerance:

  • Temporary chlorosis of lower leaves may occur. To minimize injury, use a low directed spray application. Assess cane variety tolerance before treating large areas.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING:

  • GROUP C HERBICIDE: AC Dethrone contains triazinone and urea group herbicides with the mode of action as inhibitors of photosynthesis at photosystem II. The product falls under Group C herbicides.
  • Weed Resistance Management: Weed resistance may occur, especially with repeated use. Resistant weeds will not be controlled by this product. Detection of resistant weeds is challenging, and Axichem Pty Limited assumes no liability for losses. Consult with agricultural authorities for strategies to minimize herbicide resistance.

Equipment and Application:

  • Weigh the correct amount of AC Dethrone and mix it into the required water volume.
  • Use proper mesh size (50 mesh or coarser) for strainer and nozzle screens to prevent blockage.
  • Continuous agitation is required to keep the material in suspension. Mechanical agitation is preferred.
  • Sprayer: Fixed Boom Power Sprayer - Shut off spray booms during specific operations to avoid overdosing. Use sufficient water for thorough coverage, with a pressure range of 250 - 350 kPa.

Use of Surfactant or Wetting Agent:

  • Non-ionic surfactant may aid wetting of leaves for increased knockdown effectiveness. Use at specified rates for effective results.

Protection of Crops, Native Plants, and Non-Target Areas:

  • Avoid application on or near desirable trees, plants, or areas where roots may extend. Prevent spray drift onto susceptible plants, crops, lands, or pastures. Do not use on lawns, walkways, driveways, tennis courts, or similar areas.

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:

  • Prevent contamination of streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

Storage and Disposal:

  • Store in the original container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
  • Single rinse before disposal. Puncture and bury empty containers in a designated landfill. Do not burn empty containers.

Safety Directions and First Aid:

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and gloves. In case of contact with eyes, wash with water for at least 15 minutes. If poisoning occurs, seek medical attention. If swallowed, induce vomiting if more than 15 minutes away from a hospital.
