GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Product Overview: Pacific Diflufenican 500 SC Selective Herbicide is designed for use as an early post-emergence spray in clover-based pasture, field peas, lentils, and lupins. It provides both contact and residual activity, with residual effects lasting up to 8 weeks under favorable growing conditions.
Application and Effects:
-
Early Post-Emergence Spray:
- Suitable for clover-based pasture, field peas, lentils, and lupins.
- Can be used as a pre-emergence spray on lupins in NSW, ACT, Vic, SA, and Tas.
-
Mode of Action:
- Taken up by the shoots of germinating seeds and seedlings.
- Causes immediate chlorosis in susceptible weeds, followed by necrosis and death.
-
Crop Response:
- Transient crop discoloration may occur, with lentils and lupins showing yellow or white banding on leaves, and clover/field peas exhibiting white/pink coloration of leaf veins and tips.
- Some crop height reduction may occur.
- Crop development and subsequent growth will not be affected under normal conditions.
-
Crop Sensitivity:
- Crop discolouration may be influenced by stress factors like pre-emergent herbicide, disease, insect damage, nutrient deficiency, frost, extremes of pH, dry or excessively moist conditions.
- Field peas are particularly sensitive; caution is advised.
Resistant Weeds Warning:
- Pacific Diflufenican 500 SC is a Group F herbicide (Nicotinanalide group).
- Some weed biotypes may develop resistance through genetic variability.
- Pacific Agriscience Pty Ltd accepts no liability for losses resulting from resistance.
- Consult local agricultural experts for strategies to manage resistant weeds.
Mixing and Application:
- Stir or invert the container before use to address settling.
- Half-fill the spray tank with clean water, add the herbicide, and agitate thoroughly.
- Complete coverage of weeds is essential.
- Higher water volumes (up to 100L/ha) improve herbicide activity but may increase symptoms of crop damage.
- Caution with tank-mixtures, especially with grass herbicides. Read labels and follow recommendations.
Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:
- Avoid contaminating streams, rivers, or waterways.
- Do not apply under weather conditions or from equipment that may cause spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.
Storage and Disposal:
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store in the original closed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight.
- Triple or pressure rinse containers before disposal; bury empty containers in a designated landfill.
- Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site, and do not burn empty containers or product.
