GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - DESTRO 375 Herbicide
Target Conditions:
- Best results under good growing conditions when weeds are actively growing.
- Avoid application to stressed weeds (severe frosts, dry, waterlogged conditions, nutrient deficiency, or disease).
- Wild oats germinating after application are often stunted and do not seriously compete with the crop.
- Successful application to crops with frost or dew cover, but should be avoided if spraying cannot be completed.
Spray Mixtures:
- If spraying cannot be completed, mixtures of DESTRO 375 in clean water may be left overnight without significant loss of efficacy.
- Mixture should be well-agitated before spraying re-commences.
- Not recommended as general practice.
MIXING:
- Add DESTRO 375 directly to the spray tank when about two-thirds full.
- Top up with water to the required volume with agitators in motion.
- Add wetting agents just before the tank is full to avoid excessive frothing.
APPLICATION:
- Aim to apply to the base of weeds for penetration.
EQUIPMENT:
-
Ground Sprayers:
- Standard boom sprays with by-pass or mechanical agitation recommended.
- Use approximately 50 to 150 L water/ha and a droplet size of 200 to 300 microns.
- DO NOT apply with boomless jets or misters.
- For better coverage and penetration, set nozzles at a 45° angle forward, especially in dense crops.
-
Knapsack Equipment:
- Apply DESTRO 375 at label rates in adequate water to thoroughly wet weeds (5 to 10 L/100 m²).
-
Aircraft:
- Best results with 20 to 30 L water/ha, steady crosswind, and a swath width of 15 to 18 meters.
- Aim for a droplet size of 200 to 300 microns.
- Consult the aircraft manufacturer for details.
COMPATIBILITY:
-
For broadleaf weed control in wheat, barley, triticale, and rye.
- Compatible with Bromoxy 200 EC, CLOP (clopyralid), DIMETHOLINX, OMETHO-MITE 290 SL, phosmet.
- Mixed with Bromoxynil + MCPA, Tigrex (up to 800 mL/ha), MCPA LVE (up to 700 mL/ha) may cause some loss of activity.
- Mixed with MEERKAT (up to 750 mL/ha), Eclipse (up to 7 g/ha) may cause some loss of Wild Oat control.
-
When mixing with broadleaf herbicides and a non-ionic surfactant (1000 g/L) at the rate of 250 mL per 100L of spray solution.
- Minimize reductions in grass weed control by using a minimum of 80 L of water per hectare (ground) and 30 L (air).
- For Wild Oats, use 2.0 L DESTRO 375/ha (except barley).
- DO NOT use Bromoxynil + MCPA at rates above 1.4 L/ha when mixing with DESTRO 375.
-
Allow at least 10 days between DESTRO 375 and other herbicides containing 2,4-D, MCPA, dicamba, or similar sprays.
-
For oilseed poppies in Tasmania only: Mix with pesticides as recommended by the Department of Agriculture or the poppy contracting company.
-
Where phalaris is present, DESTRO 375 and Puma S may be applied together at the recommended rates. Add a wetting agent as recommended on the DESTRO 375 label.
