GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Emaz Herbicide is a pre-emergence herbicide used for controlling summer germinating grasses and broadleaved weeds in various applications, including fallow, sugarcane, and peanuts.
All Applications:
- Use correct nozzles and operating pressures to reduce the incidence of fines.
- Regularly replace worn or old nozzles and calibrate equipment.
Fallow Application:
- Apply in fallow prior to planting various crops, as specified in the Follow Crops table.
- Provides short-term (6 to 12 weeks) pre-emergence control.
- A green weed cover greater than 50% reduces pre-emergence weed control duration.
Sugarcane Application: Pre-emergence:
- Apply two days prior to incorporation.
- Incorporate with adequate irrigation or rainfall (minimum 5 cm depth).
- Apply before sugarcane emergence.
- In moist conditions, allow weeds to germinate before application. Mix with a knockdown herbicide if emerged weeds are present.
Post-emergence:
- Always mix with registered rates of paraquat.
- Apply as a carefully directed inter-row spray to weeds and the base of sugarcane stalks.
- Avoid spray contact with sugarcane foliage.
- DO NOT add crop oil. No other surfactant or adjuvant is required.
Peanut Application: Pre-emergence:
- Apply to soil and incorporate with adequate irrigation or rainfall (minimum 5 cm depth).
Post-emergence:
- Mix with an adjuvant as directed in the DIRECTIONS FOR USE section.
Soil Type:
- Pre-emergence weed control may be limited on soils with pH <5.0 and/or high concentrations of iron (Fe) and/or aluminum (Al), common in soil types like Krasnozems and red brown Ferrosols.
MIXING:
- Emaz Herbicide is an aqueous solution.
- Part fill the spray tank with water, add the product with the agitator running, and then fill the tank with water.
- When tank mixing, add other recommended compatible products first, mix thoroughly, and then add Emaz Herbicide.
- For post-emergence applications in peanuts, add adjuvant after adding Emaz Herbicide to the tank.
- No adjuvants or surfactants are required when used alone for pre-emergence weed control or with paraquat. DO NOT add crop oil when applied post-emergence with paraquat.
APPLICATION:
- DO NOT apply by aircraft.
- Fallow Application: Apply with boom equipment in not less than 50 L/ha water using flat fan nozzles. Avoid overlap and do not overspray headlands.
- Sugarcane: Ensure thorough coverage of soil and weeds. Apply in a minimum of 200 L water/ha using a nozzle configuration for either pre-emergence or post-emergence applications.
- Peanuts: Apply with boom equipment in not less than 50 L/ha water using flat fan nozzles. Avoid overlap and do not overspray headlands. For post-emergence applications, apply a minimum of 2 hours before rainfall.
EQUIPMENT CLEAN-UP:
- Thoroughly flush all spray equipment with water after using Emaz Herbicide and before using other products.
COMPATIBILITY:
- Emaz Herbicide is compatible with STOMP+, atrazine, glyphosate, paraquat, paraquat + diquat, Ally+, Garlon+, Touchdown+, and 2,4-D.
- NOT compatible with dicamba.
