GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS for Glyphosate-Based Herbicide

Mode of Action: The product acts as a translocated herbicide, affecting both foliage and roots throughout the plant. Optimal usage is during active growth, moderate climatic conditions, and when plants are disease-free and clean.

Timing and Symptoms: Best results are obtained when target species are actively growing. Symptoms, such as yellowing, wilting, and browning, typically appear 2-7 days after spraying annual species and 2-3 weeks after spraying perennial species. Cooler and cloudy conditions may delay chemical activity.

Safety To Crops: The herbicide is non-selective; avoid contact with desirable crops, plants, or trees. Guidelines include:

  1. Avoid application when wind blows towards desirable plants.
  2. Use larger droplet settings (above 150 microns) during calibration.
  3. Refrain from spraying in winds exceeding 8 km/h, still air, and hot days.

Spray Preparation:

  1. Ensure a clean tank with residues from previous use removed.

  2. Half-fill the tank with clean water, avoiding soil particles or hard water.

  3. Add the specified amount of product.

  4. Mix well, keeping the filling hose below the surface to prevent foaming.

  5. Add water to fill the vat.

  6. Remove the hose promptly to prevent back siphoning.

    Note:

    • Avoid mechanical agitators to prevent excessive foaming.
    • Do not add non-approved herbicides and insecticides.

Surfactant: The addition of surfactant may enhance weed control with high water rates or low product rates. Suggested surfactant rates are provided.

Rainfall Effects: Heavy rain within 2 hours of spraying may reduce effectiveness, necessitating respraying. Normal rain up to 6 hours post-application may also impact efficacy. Results may be compromised if applied during weed stress conditions (e.g., drought, water logging, frost).

Soil Persistence: The product is not persistent in soils; it is rapidly broken down by soil microbes and hydrolysis caused by moisture.

Application Equipment: Types of Equipment:

  • Knapsack
  • Handgun
  • Boom
  • Wiper
  • Aerial

For Knapsack and Handgun Equipment: Use a D6 spray plate at a pressure of 400-700 kPa for maximum efficiency. Good coverage is essential for effective translocation.

For Boom Equipment: Use fan nozzles at 240-280 kPa. Water volumes per hectare can vary, but not more than 200 litres are necessary. In conservation tillage, 50-100 litre/ha volumes are sufficient.

For Aerial Equipment: Use micronair and boom equipment with a droplet size of 250-350 microns. A swath width of 15-17 metres with a minimum spray volume of 15 litres/ha is recommended.

For Wiper Equipment: Follow manufacturer guidelines for Ropewick applicators. As a general guide, mix 800mL of product with 2 litres of water.

Sprayer Clean Up: Clean all spray equipment thoroughly after use to prevent corrosion. Aircraft should be washed meticulously, paying attention to wheels and landing gear.

Compatibility: The product can be mixed with certain products to broaden pest control and improve performance. Compatibility details are provided in the "Directions for Use" section. Add crystalline ammonium sulfate to minimize antagonism with flowable triazine herbicides. Ensure compatibility with tank-mix partners.
