General Instructions for Loveland Products Fitness Fungicide:

Application Limit: DO NOT apply more than 6 sprays per season.

Leaf Identification: For cereals, the flag-2 leaf is the 3rd last fully emerged leaf, i.e., the second leaf below the flag.

Application Guidelines:

  • Wheat Stripe Rust Susceptible Varieties:
    • Apply when 10% of leaves are infected.
  • Wheat Stripe Rust Moderately Susceptible Varieties:
    • Apply when 15% to 20% of leaves are infected.

Mixing: Shake well before use. Fill the spray tank, then add concentrate. Mix thoroughly.

Application Methods: Fitness may be applied by ground rig (high or low volume) or by air.

Cereals Application: May be applied by boom spray or aircraft. Ensure complete coverage of all leaves and stems. Objective: Keep the upper 2-3 leaves green and functioning through the grain-filling stage. Aircraft Application: Apply 10 - 20 L/ha, with the lower rate used under crosswind conditions of not less than 5 knots. Use the higher volume for dense crops.

Compatibility: Fitness may be mixed with any registered products containing azinphos-methyl, chlorothalonil, copper oxychloride, demeton-s-methyl, diazinon, dimethoate mancozeb, metalaxyl, methomyl, parathion, propargite, and zineb.

Resistance Warning:

  • GROUP 3 FUNGICIDE:
    • Fitness Fungicide is a member of the DMI group of fungicides.
    • For fungicide resistance management, the product is a Group 3 Fungicide.
    • Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to the product and other Group 3 fungicides may exist.
    • Resistant fungi will not be controlled by this product, resulting in reduced efficacy and possible yield loss.
    • Loveland Products accepts no liability for losses due to the failure of this product to control resistant fungi.

Precautions:

  • Re-entry Period:
    • DO NOT enter treated areas until the spray has dried.
  • Protection of Crop, Native, and Non-target Plants:
    • DO NOT apply under conditions or from equipment causing spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, lands, and pastures.
  • Protection of Livestock:
    • Low hazard to bees; no special precautions are required.
  • Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:
    • DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or watercourses with the chemical or used containers.

Storage and Disposal:

  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
  • Recycled Containers:
    • Triple rinse the container for disposal.
    • Dispose of rinsate by adding it to the spray tank.
    • DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemical on-site.
    • Store cleaned containers in a sheltered place with the cap removed for recycling.
  • Non-recycled Containers:
    • If not recycling, deliver empty packaging to an approved waste management facility.
    • If a facility is not available, bury the empty packaging 500mm below the surface in a disposal pit marked for this purpose.
    • DO NOT burn empty containers or product.
  • Refillable Containers:
    • Empty contents fully into application equipment.
    • Close all valves and return to the point of supply for refill or storage.

Safety Directions:

  • Harmful if swallowed; will damage the eyes.
  • Will irritate the nose, throat, and skin.
  • Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
  • DO NOT inhale vapor.
  • When handling and preparing the spray, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist, a washable hat, elbow-length PVC, nitrile, or neoprene gloves, goggles, and a disposable fume mask covering the mouth and nose.
