GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT:

  • Novaguard Flupropanate 745 Herbicide is slow-acting, requiring 3-12 months for control of existing growth, depending on weather conditions and senescence of plant foliage.
  • Residual control duration depends on soil type, rainfall, and regeneration from grass seed or surviving rhizomes.
  • Liable to leaching and movement in the soil under heavy rainfall or irrigation, with persistence in dry conditions, especially in light sandy soils.
  • Avoid use in channels, drains, and areas with desirable plant roots nearby.
  • Control of grasses in shaded conditions may be reduced.
  • Some desirable grasses and legumes may be damaged if exposed to the spray or if they germinate before product residues dissipate. Do not treat pastureland more than once a year. Seek advice from your district agricultural officer.

Mixing:

  • Highly soluble in water; add the required amount directly to the spray tank with agitation.

Wetting Agent:

  • No wetting agent/surfactant needed unless specified in the directions. Root absorption is the main mode of action.

Compatibility:

  • Not recommended to mix with chemicals other than glyphosate. Glyphosate may be added for rapid knockdown, but efficacy reduction (5-15%) and shorter residual control may occur.

Application:

  • Calibrate boom spray equipment for accurate delivery and check nozzles for a uniform spray pattern.
  • Calibrate spot spray equipment.
  • For aerial application in challenging terrain, use higher water volumes, anti-drift additives, and coarser droplets.

Paddock Preparation:

  • Graze desirable species before spraying to prevent coverage of weeds.

Re-seeding:

  • Sow desirable pasture species after at least 100 mm of leaching rain.

Clean Up:

  • Clean equipment thoroughly after use.

Resistance Warning: RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING

  • Novaguard Flupropanate 745 Herbicide belongs to the chlorocarbonic acids group (Group 0 herbicide) with an unknown mode of action.
  • It is essential for weed resistance management as some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to this product and other Group 0 herbicides may exist.
  • Resistant weeds won't be controlled by this product, and its repeated use may lead to resistant weed dominance.
  • Novaguard Pty Ltd is not liable for losses resulting from the failure of this product to control resistant weeds, as detecting resistant weeds before use is challenging.
