GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Fusilade is a foliar applied plant regulator that is rapidly absorbed by leaves and green stems, being rainfast within one hour, and translocated throughout the plant. It accumulates at growing points, both above ground and in the roots, rhizomes, and stolons of grass weeds. Weed growth and competition with the crop cease within 48 hours, and complete weed control is usually achieved 3-5 weeks after spraying.
Resistant Weeds Warning:
- Fusilade is a member of the aryloxyphenoxypropionate group of herbicides and is a Group A herbicide.
- Resistant weed biotypes may exist, and repeated use can lead to the dominance of resistant individuals.
- Crop Care Australasia Pty Ltd accepts no liability for losses resulting from Fusilade's failure to control resistant weeds.
Stress Conditions:
- Moisture stress, caused by drought or short-term stresses like high temperatures and low humidity, can affect the product's efficacy.
- Adequate moisture, either through irrigation or rainfall, is crucial immediately before or after spraying under stress conditions.
Mixing:
- Add the required amount of Fusilade directly to the spray tank (50-75% full) with agitation running.
- Adjuvants like Agral, BS1000, DC Trate, or Ulvapron are essential for mixing, unless otherwise stated.
- Thoroughly agitate if settlement occurs.
Time of Application:
- For maximum benefits, spray young and actively growing weeds. Grasses establishing from seed should be sprayed before tillering occurs.
- Higher rates are necessary once tillering commences. Application at any stage of crop growth is possible, allowing sufficient time for the withholding period.
Method of Application:
- Good spray coverage is essential. Spray equipment should be accurately checked and calibrated before application.
- Boom spraying: Use suitable nozzles for even distribution, and higher volumes for dense weed infestations.
- Aerial Application: Minimize spray drift and apply in not less than 30 L/ha.
- Spot Spraying: Use a calibrated knapsack sprayer for smaller areas.
Cleaning Up:
- Clean equipment thoroughly after use and rinse several times before re-use.
Compatibility:
- Compatible with certain insecticides, including Agral, BS1000, DC Trate, Ulvapron, Sertin, Imidan, Karate, and Pirimor.
- Do not tank-mix with other pesticides without consulting a Crop Care representative.
Protection of Crops and Environment:
- Avoid spraying under conditions causing drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, croplands, or pastures.
- Do not plant cereal crops for 12 weeks after applying Fusilade.
- Moderately hazardous to fish; avoid contaminating streams, rivers, or waterways.
Storage and Disposal:
- Store in the closed, original container in a well-ventilated area, away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed, and fertilizers.
- Triple or pressure rinse containers before disposal. Dispose of rinsings in the spray tank. Do not dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site.
- If not recycling, bury empty containers in a landfill or disposal pit following local regulations.
Safety Directions:
- May irritate eyes and skin. Avoid contact; wear elbow-length PVC gloves and a face shield during preparation and use.
- Wash exposed areas immediately with soap and water. Wash hands, arms, and face thoroughly after each day's use.
