GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

FUSILADE is a post-emergence selective herbicide that is rapidly absorbed by leaves and green stems, becoming rainfast within one hour. It translocates throughout the plant, accumulating at growing points in the roots, rhizomes, and stolons of grass weeds. Weed growth and competition with the crop cease within 48 hours. Initial symptoms become visible after at least a week, including the browning and rotting of growing points, easily removable shoot tips after 2 to 3 weeks, and yellowing or reddening of young leaves. Complete weed control is generally achieved 3 to 5 weeks after spraying.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

  • FUSILADE belongs to the aryloxyphenoxypropionates (fops) group of herbicides with the inhibitors of acetyl coA carboxylase mode of action.
  • It is a Group A herbicide, and resistant weed biotypes may exist.
  • Syngenta Crop Protection Pty Limited accepts no liability for losses due to FUSILADE's failure to control resistant weeds.

Stress Conditions:

  • Moisture stress, caused by drought or short-term stresses, can affect efficacy. Adequate irrigation or rainfall is essential before or after spraying.
  • Avoid spraying under stress conditions such as frost, waterlogging, extended cold conditions, or evident stress just before application.

Mixing:

  • Add the required amount of FUSILADE directly to the spray tank (50 to 75% full) with continuous agitation.
  • Adjuvants like Agral, BS1000, DC Trate, Ulvapron, unless otherwise stated, are essential. Thoroughly agitate if settlement occurs.

Time of Application:

  • Spray young and actively growing weeds for maximum benefits. Grasses from seed should be sprayed before tillering occurs.
  • Higher rates are needed once tillering commences. For annual grass weeds, spray before the late tillering stage for a complete kill.
  • Application can be made at any stage of crop growth, allowing sufficient time for the prescribed withholding period.

Method of Application:

  • Good spray coverage is crucial. Calibrate spray equipment accurately before application.
  • Boom spraying: Ensure even distribution with a double overlap pattern, especially for grass weed targets.
    • Broadacre use: Water volumes per hectare (50 to 100 L/ha) depend on nozzle selection. 110º fan nozzles are preferred.
    • Band spraying: Use two nozzles on either side of the plant row beyond the 2 leaf stage.
  • Aerial Application: Minimize spray drift and avoid high winds or temperature inversion conditions. Apply in not less than 30 L water/ha.

Cleaning Up:

  • Thoroughly clean equipment and rinse several times after use before re-use.

Compatibility:

  • Compatible with Agral, BS1000, DC Trate, Ulvapron, Sertin, Imidan, Karate, and Pirimor.
  • DO NOT tank mix with other pesticides without prior reference to a Syngenta representative.
