DIRECTIONS FOR USE
RESTRAINTS
DO NOT proceed to use this pack until all instructions are read carefully. Mixing incorrectly will reduce the effectiveness of the product.
DO NOT apply in gusty conditions greater than 8 metres per second or if rain is imminent within 6 hours. DO NOT apply in gusty conditions greater than 8 meters per second or if rain is imminent within 6 hours.

AGRUCULTURAL AREAS, PASTURES, CROPS, FORAGE CROPS AND NON-CROPS AREAS
Pest: Nymphs of the Australian plague locust (Chortoicetes terminifera), Wingless grasshopper (Phaulacridium vittatum) and pest grasshoppers
RATE/h: 75 g spores (the final mixed product diluted into 150 – 450 L of water treats 2 hectares)
Critical comments: The supplied product contains three different components and requires mixing prior to use (1). For best results, apply when locusts and grasshoppers are at early nymph stage.
Do NOT apply in gusty conditions greater than 8 metres per second or if rain is imminent in the next 6 hours.
(1) Refer to “Mixing Instructions” below; incorrect mixing will reduce the effectiveness of the product.
NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
The pail contains: 1) a bottle of 900 mL emulsifiable oil and, 2) a clear plastic bag containing 150 g of Metarhizium anisopliae var. acridum dry spores plus 750 mL of surfactant solution in a silver inner pouch. The inner pouch inside the clear plastic bag may not be readily visible if covered with spores. Read “Mixing Instructions” before opening the bag or bottle. GREEN GUARD SC is specifically designed for small-scale application in agricultural areas, pastures, crops, forage crops and non-crop areas. At the warm to hot (25 – 35 C) temperatures common during spring and summer, locusts and grasshoppers treated with GREEN GUARD SC take 8-12 days to die. Mortality may take longer when it is cool or cloudy. Because mortality can take 8-12 days or more, the best strategy with most locusts and grasshoppers is to begin treatment early in the nymphal stage. When locusts or grasshoppers are spread out, treat all of the infested area. However, locusts sometimes form discrete bands. In such cases, first treat the vegetation for 10-15 m in front of the band and then treat the band itself. The nymphs will not only be treated directly but will also pick up a further dose from the vegetation as they march through it.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the clear plastic bag and the bottle from the pail. Do NOT open the clear plastic bag or the bottle until instructed to do so.
2. Lay the clear plastic bag on a firm surface then locate the silver inner pouch within the clear plastic bag. With a clenched fist, strike to break the seal of the inner pouch, the seal is designed to break upon impact and release the surfactant solution still within the clear plastic bag.
3. Once the seal of the inner pouch is broken, thoroughly mix the surfactant solution and dry spores in the unopened clear plastic bag for 2 - 3 minutes. Let it stand 10 minutes to allow the spores to be well coated with surfactant solution.
4. Tear open the clear plastic bag and pour the mixture of spores and surfactant solution into the pail. Use a small amount of water to rinse the spore residues and add rinsings to the pail. Dispose of the empty bag and pouch accordingly (refer Storage and Disposal section).
5. Add the entire contents of the bottle containing 900 mL of emulsifiable oil into the pail, mix gently with stirring stick supplied until oil is dispersed evenly throughout solution (approximately 1 minute). Allow to sit for 2-3 minutes to allow spores and oil to come together. Rinse the bottle and add rinsings to the pail. Disposal of empty bottle accordingly (refer Storage and Disposal section).
6. Add the mixed solution into a clean spray tank and dilute with drinking quality water to make 150-450L of spray. Use more water (400-450 L) for tall and thick vegetation. Triple or preferably pressure rinse the pail before disposal. Add rinsings to spray tank. Dispose of the empty pail accordingly (refer Storage and Disposal section).
7. Mix thoroughly. To ensure product effectiveness, diluted product should be used immediately.

APPLICATION
Ensure equipment being used is free of chemical residues. The formulation is designed to be applied through the diverse range of nozzle or boom spray equipment commonly used to apply water-based sprays. Apply by ground based equipment to achieve a droplet size (VMD) in the range 80-250 μm. As the active ingredient consists of small particles, very fine filters will sometimes clog up. If there is clogging, remove the filter and replace with a filter with a larger mesh. Apply when temperature is between 15 – 30 C.

COMPATIBILITY
This product should not be used with other pesticides.

PRECAUTIONS
Re-entry periods: DO NOT enter treated area for at least 24 hours after spraying, unless wearing a disposable mist mask, cotton overalls buttoned to neck and wrist and washable hat and rubber gloves. After each day’s use, wash clothing and gloves.
