DIRECTIONS FOR USE

IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Disease Control

Honesty is a protectant fungicide used in potatoes (seed) when applied as a tuber seed treatment pre-planting for:

  • Black scurf (Rhizoctonia solani): Moderate control

  • Silver scurf (Helminthosporium solani): Some reduction may be achieved

  • Blackdot (Colletotrichum coccodes): Reduction

Resistance Management

GROUP 7 FUNGICIDE

Honesty contains fluxapyroxad, a succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor (SDHI) belonging to FRAC Group 7.

Effective disease management is critical in delaying the build-up of resistant pathogen populations. Therefore, Honesty should be applied according to the manufacturer's recommendations for the target disease at the indicated rate and timings.

For further advice on resistance management, contact your agronomist or specialist advisor or visit the FRAG-UK website.

Crop-Specific Information

Potatoes (seed)
Honesty can be used on all varieties of seed potatoes grown for seed, ware, or processing. If chitting the tuber seed potatoes, apply prior to traying out the crop to avoid mechanical damage to the chits on a roller table.

Sowing treated tuber seed that has been stored for prolonged periods (beyond the season of treatment) may adversely affect effectiveness and/or crop safety.

Time of Application

Honesty should be applied as a tuber seed treatment pre-planting by roller table.

Following Crops

Following crops after normal harvest:
Any crop may be planted following the normal harvest of a potato crop treated with Honesty.

In the event of crop failure:
No restrictions are proposed for succeeding crops after failure of a potato crop treated with Honesty.

Mixing and Application

Mixing:
Never prepare more spray solution than is required.

Application by roller table as a seed-treatment pre-planting:
A suitable approved dye such as Unisperse Red C2B-Agro dye (10 ml/100 kg potatoes) must be added to Honesty prior to tuber seed application on the roller table unless the dye has already been added with another seed treatment. The dye used should be added at a rate to provide sufficient color to the tubers.

When treating potatoes (seed), ensure that the roller tables and sprayers are correctly calibrated (see manufacturers' recommendations and BCPC Guidelines).

On emptying the container, rinse container thoroughly by using an integrated pressure rinsing device or by manually rinsing three times. Add washings to the tank at the time of filling and dispose of the container safely.

Sprayer Cleaning

Wash sprayer thoroughly immediately after use, using clean water and following the sprayer cleaning guidance provided by the equipment manufacturer.
