GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING: GROUP B HERBICIDE

IMARK 240 HERBICIDE is a member of the imidazolinone group of herbicides with the inhibitors-of-acetolactate-synthase (ALS) mode of action. For weed resistance management, it is classified as a Group B herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to this product and other Group B herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, liability for any losses resulting from the failure to control resistant weeds is disclaimed.

ALL APPLICATIONS:

  • Reduce the incidence of "fines" by using correct nozzles and operating pressures.

  • Replace worn or old nozzles and calibrate equipment regularly.

Fallow Application:

IMARK 240 HERBICIDE can be applied in fallow prior to the planting of various crops for short-term pre-emergence control of summer germinating grasses and broadleaved weeds. A green weed cover of over 50% significantly reduces pre-emergence weed control.

Sugarcane Application:

Pre-emergence:

  • Apply to soil two days before incorporation, ensuring a minimum depth of 5 cm with adequate irrigation or rainfall.

  • Avoid incorporation by flood irrigation to prevent weed control loss.

  • Apply before cane emergence; if weeds have emerged, mix with an appropriate knockdown herbicide.

Post-emergence:

  • Mix with registered rates of paraquat and apply as a carefully directed inter-row spray to weeds and at the base of sugarcane stalks.

  • DO NOT add crop oil to the mixture.

Peanut Application:

Pre-emergence:

  • Apply to soil and incorporate with adequate irrigation or rainfall to a minimum depth of 5 cm.

Post-emergence:

  • Always mix with an adjuvant as directed.

Soil Type:

Pre-emergence weed control can be limited on soils with pH <5.0 and/or high concentrations of iron (Fe) and/or aluminum (Al), common in soil types like Krasnozems and red brown Ferrosols.

MIXING:

Partially fill the spray tank with water, add the required amount of product with the agitator running, then fill the tank with water. When tank mixing with other products, add the other product first and mix thoroughly.

APPLICATION:

  • DO NOT apply by aircraft.

  • Follow specific application instructions for each crop, ensuring proper coverage and avoiding headlands.

  • For peanuts, apply a minimum of 2 hours before rainfall for post-emergence applications.
