GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Results are best under good growing conditions, and application to weeds or crops under stress (e.g., due to continuous severe frosts, dry, or waterlogged conditions) should be avoided. Wild Oats germinating after application will often be stunted and will not seriously compete with the crop. Application to crops with a covering of frost or dew has been successful but should be avoided if spraying cannot be completed.

However, it is not recommended that this be general practice. If spraying cannot be completed, spray mixtures of Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide in clean water may be left overnight without significant loss of efficacy. The mixture should be well agitated before spraying recommences, but this should not be general practice.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING:

Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide is a Group A herbicide. Some naturally-occurring weed biotypes resistant to Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide and other herbicides which inhibit acetyl CoA carboxylase may exist. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide or other inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase herbicides. Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide sprayed paddocks should be closely monitored if the paddock has a previous history of diclofop-methyl usage. If resistance is suspected, contact Imtrade Australia Pty Ltd or the local Department of Agriculture.

To avoid further resistance problems, DO NOT use Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide. Consult Imtrade Australia Pty Ltd or the local Department of Agriculture for advice on resistance strategies. Resistance should not be confused with poor application, conditions, or timing with the use of Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, Imtrade Australia Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide to control resistant weeds.

APPLICATION:

Aim to apply Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide to the base of weeds and ensure penetration.

GROUP A HERBICIDE MIXING:

  1. Clean the spray tank of previous chemical residues, preferably with a chemical residual remover.
  2. If a sulphonyl urea such as Glean* has been used, follow the respective labels on cleaning service equipment before using Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide on sulphonyl urea-sensitive crops.
  3. Use only clean water, either rainwater or local authority water.
  4. Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and add the required amount of Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide with agitation in action.
  5. Add surfactant last.
  6. When tank mixing with other chemicals, add Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide after other water-soluble products but before flowables.

EQUIPMENT:

Boom Equipment: Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide can be applied in spray volumes of 50-150L/ha using fan nozzles supplying a droplet size in the range of 150-300 microns. DO NOT apply with boomless jets or misters. With ground boom sprays, better coverage and penetration may be obtained by setting nozzles at a 45° angle forward, particularly in dense crops.

Aircraft: Apply using 20-30L water/ha with a steady crosswind and a swath width of 15-18 meters, using a droplet size in the range of 200-300 microns. DO NOT exaggerate swath width. Aircraft operators should consult the manufacturer for details.

Surfactant: 0.25% of a 1000 g/L surfactant per 100L spray solution is recommended with Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide in all situations where Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide is being used alone.

Cleaning Equipment: All spray equipment, including pumps, spray tanks, lines, and nozzles, landing gear (aircraft), should be thoroughly washed with water after each day of spraying.

COMPATIBILITY:

For broadleaf weed control in Wheat, Barley, Triticale, and Rye, the following compatibilities are indicated:

  1. Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide may be mixed with the following products without a significant loss of activity:

    • Bromoxynil, Rally Herbicide (up to 150 mL/ha), Dimethoate, and Phosmet.
  2. Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide may be mixed with the following products, but some loss of grass weed control and/or speed of kill should be expected:

    • Bromoxynil + MCPA (up to 1.4L/ha), Imtrade Lionex Selective Herbicide (up to 800 mL/ha), MCPA LVE.
  3. Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide may be mixed with the following products, but some loss of Wild Oat control:

    • Jaguar* (up to 750 mL/ha), Eclipse* (up to 7 g/ha).
  4. Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide may be tank mixed with Flumetsulam 800 g/kg (up to 25 g/ha) where control of Wild Oats is NOT required.

  5. When mixing with broadleaf herbicides add ChemAg Wetter 1000 surfactant at the rate of 250 mL per 100L of spray solution. Reductions in grass weed control (as indicated above) can be minimized by using a minimum of 80L water/ha by ground and 30L by air, and if Wild Oats are present, use 2L Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide (except Barley). DO NOT use Bromoxynil + MCPA at rates above 1.4L/ha when mixing with Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide.

  6. Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide and Metsulfuronmethyl 600 g/kg are physically compatible but when this mixture is used a significant reduction in grass weed control can be expected. Add a wetting agent to this mixture as for Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide at recommended rates. Consult Imtrade Australia Pty Ltd representatives for further advice.

  7. Allow at least 10 days between any application of Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide and other herbicides containing 2,4-D, MCPA, Dicamba, or other similar sprays, which should preferably follow Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide.

  8. For use in Oilseed Poppies in Tasmania only: Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide may be mixed with pesticides as recommended by the Department of Agriculture or the poppy contracting company.

  9. Where Phalaris is present, Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide and Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl may be applied together at the respective recommended rates. A wetting agent should be added to this mixture at the rate recommended on the Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide label. DO NOT ADD OIL.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS, AND ENVIRONMENT:

DO NOT contaminate dams, ponds, waterways, or drains with this product or the used container.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS:

DO NOT apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment which could be expected to cause spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, cropping lands (e.g., Maize, Sorghum, Rice), or pastures. DO NOT plant susceptible crops (e.g., Maize, Sorghum, Rice) for 10 weeks after application.

Undersown Clovers and Medics: Imtrade Diclofop-Methyl 375 Selective Herbicide does not affect undersown Clovers or Medics or other broadleaf crops, and has no activity against broadleaf weeds.
