GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Uses: Imtrade Diquat 200 Non-Residual Herbicide is an aqueous solution of diquat, a non-volatile herbicide effective against broadleafed weeds. It is inactivated on contact with the soil, making it safe for use around bushes and trees with no green bark. It is easily mixed with water and active at low concentrations.

Mixing: Add the required quantity of Imtrade Diquat 200 Non-Residual Herbicide to water in the spray tank and agitate for even mixing. Use clean water only, as suspended soil particles in dirty water may interfere with herbicidal action.

Wetting Agent: Imtrade Diquat 200 Non-Residual Herbicide contains no wetting agent. Add a non-ionic wetting agent like Agral® or Imtrade Penetrate Wetter to the spray mixture unless otherwise specified.

Application: For best results, ensure even and complete coverage with good penetration of the spray into the target foliage. Apply in dull weather or at the end of the day for optimal results. Imtrade Diquat 200 is rapidly absorbed and not affected by rain shortly after application.

Application Rates: Use higher rates for dense or weedy crops. For seedling weeds, apply at 1.4L/ha; for older weeds, use 2.8 to 4L/ha. Imtrade Paraquat 250 Herbicide is preferred for grass-dominant areas, and Imtrade Diquat 200 is suitable for mainly broadleaf weeds.

Boom Spraying: Use a boomsprayer with a flat fan nozzle for even coverage and minimal drift. Set the boom at a sufficient height above the crop for complete double overlap of the flat spray pattern. A minimum spray volume of 100L/ha is recommended.

High Volume Spot Spraying: For hand-held equipment, use 250 mL of product per 100L of water (about 700 to 1000L/ha). In a knapsack, use 50 mL product plus 30 mL Agral® per 15L.

Aerial Application: Minimize spray drift by adjusting flying height, pressure, nozzle size, and positioning on the aircraft. Apply 30 to 60L of spray per hectare. Avoid spraying in high winds or under temperature inversion conditions.

Caution – Use by Aircraft: Exercise caution to avoid drift onto adjacent crops. Do not apply during periods of thermal instability, and avoid wind conditions and flying heights conducive to drift.

WEED CONTROL IN ROW CROPS, VEGETABLES, AND MARKET GARDENS:

  • Pre-planting and pre-crop emergence: Apply as a blanket spray in seed beds before sowing.
  • Post-emergence inter-row weed control: Use shielded nozzles for rapid control of weeds after crop seedlings have emerged.
  • Pre-harvest crop desiccation: Facilitate harvesting by desiccating weeds and accelerating crop drying.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING: Imtrade Diquat 200 Non-Residual Herbicide is a Group 22 Herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to it and other Group 22 Herbicides may exist. Use caution to avoid the dominance of resistant weeds.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS: Do not apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK: No special precautions are required. Domestic pets and poultry should be kept away from treated areas.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS, AND ENVIRONMENT: Do not contaminate streams, rivers, or watercourses with the chemical or used containers.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL: Refer to the label attached to the container for specific instructions on storage and disposal based on the container type. Store in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from children, animals, food, feedstuffs, seed, and fertilizers. Triple rinse non-refillable containers before disposal. Envirodrum with a Micro Matic valve should be returned to the point of purchase.

SAFETY DIRECTIONS: Imtrade Diquat 200 is very dangerous and poisonous if absorbed by skin contact, inhaled, or swallowed. Use appropriate personal protective equipment during preparation and application. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale spray mist. Wash exposed skin thoroughly after use.
