GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Product Description:
Kenso Agcare Indy 150 OD Insecticide is an oil-based suspension concentrate formulation primarily designed for integrated pest management, particularly targeting Lepidopteran insect pests as a larvicide.
Field Monitoring and Application Timing:
Before application, carefully monitor pest populations of eggs and larvae to determine the need and timing of application. For cotton, subsequent applications depend on economic thresholds and the growth rate of new unprotected cotton terminals. For Helicoverpa species, timing should coincide with egg hatching and before larvae become entrenched in protected feeding sites.
Mode of Action:
The active ingredient, Indoxacarb, primarily enters larvae through ingestion of treated foliage or penetration of the insect cuticle. Larvae cease feeding after ingesting the insecticide and typically die three to five days later.
Economic Thresholds and Multiple Treatments:
Determine the need for application based on locally determined economic thresholds. More than one treatment may be required to control pest populations effectively.
Spray Drift Minimization:
Employ a spray drift minimization strategy during application. Applying larger droplets (volume median diameter 150 – 250 microns) reduces drift potential, but proper application techniques and favorable environmental conditions are crucial.
Mixing:
Add Kenso Agcare Indy 150 OD Insecticide directly to the spray tank with clean water. Agitate thoroughly and add amitraz 200 g/L EC (if applicable). Mix thoroughly before application.
Surfactant/Wetting Agent:
For Brussels sprouts and cabbage, use a non-ionic surfactant/wetting agent at specified rates.
Storage of Spray Mixture:
Use the prepared spray immediately. If storage is necessary, it can be stored up to 72 hours, but thorough agitation is required before use. Mixtures with amitraz 200 g/L EC should not be stored.
Application Equipment:
Calibrate equipment to apply at least sixty droplets per cm2 of target foliage. Use appropriate fan nozzles for thorough spray coverage. Ground application should use a minimum spray volume of 100 L/ha, and aerial application requires a minimum total spray volume of 30 L/ha.
Compatibility:
Ensure compatibility with other products before tank mixing. Kenso Agcare Indy 150 OD Insecticide is compatible with certain formulations but not with ULV formulations or certain fertilizers.
Salt Addition:
When salt addition is indicated, use approved sources to avoid adverse effects.
Spray Equipment Cleanout:
Thoroughly clean all spray equipment immediately after application to reduce the risk of deposits forming.
Insecticide Resistance Warning:
Kenso Agcare Indy 150 OD Insecticide is a Group 22A insecticide. To minimize the risk of insecticide resistance, use according to the current insecticide resistance management strategy for your region.
Precautions:
Take precautions to protect human health and prevent environmental contamination. Follow re-entry periods and wear appropriate protective gear during application.
These instructions provide comprehensive guidance for the safe and effective use of Kenso Agcare Indy 150 OD Insecticide in pest management programs.
