GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

CROP SAFETY:

Chickpeas:

• Application to chickpeas in sandy or gravelly soils or low in clay or organic matter may result in crop damage.
• Heavy rains post-application may cause crop damage, especially in sandy or gravelly soils.
• Application of Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide + simazine in such soils may result in severe crop damage.
• The Yorker chickpea variety is not recommended, as post-sowing pre-emergence application may cause unacceptable crop damage and yield loss.

Crop Rotation Recommendations:

• Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide may be applied to chickpea crops, chickpea recropping, or fallow land.
• Specific recommendations for crops other than chickpeas include factors like dry periods, cold conditions, soil pH, and cultivation before recropping.
• Minimum recropping intervals are advised for all crops following the application.
• Soil pH less than 7.0 has not been extensively tested and may result in extended recropping intervals.
• Cultivation is recommended before recropping.

Sugarcane:

• Guidelines for crop safety include avoiding application to soils with low binding potential (C.E.C. below 4.5 meq/100 g or O.C. of 1.0% or less, unless C.E.C. is greater than 9.5 meq/100 g).
• Avoid application to areas with poor drainage or poor root development.
• Add paraquat to Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide to minimize foliar uptake during broadcast spray on plant cane.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Varietal Tolerance (Sugarcane):

• Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide field-tested on all important commercial sugarcane varieties without evidence of varietal tolerance variation.
• For experimental or minor sugarcane varieties, treat small test areas before large-scale use.

MIXING:

• Add Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide to a partly filled spray tank with agitation running.
• When tank-mixing with paraquat, add Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide first, followed by paraquat.
• Continue agitation while topping up the tank with water and spraying. Use the prepared mixture on the same day; do not allow it to stand overnight.

TANK MIXTURES:

• Follow all label directions, restraints, spray drift restraints, mandatory no-spray zones, critical comments, withholding periods, regional use restrictions, and safety directions for tank mix products.

APPLICATION (Sugarcane):

• Apply in a minimum spray volume of 250 L/ha, using flat fan nozzles.
• Select the lowest pressure to reduce drift.
• Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide can be applied to hot and dry soils without breakdown by sunlight.
• Activation by rainfall or irrigation is necessary to carry the herbicide into the root zone of germinating weeds.

COMPATIBILITY:

• Novaguard Isoxaflutole 750 WG Herbicide may be tank-mixed with paraquat formulations, diuron, atrazine, and Actrir DS (with restrictions).

SPRAY EQUIPMENT CLEAN-UP:

• Thoroughly clean all equipment immediately after use to avoid injury or exposure to non-target crops.
• Rigorous cleaning is recommended, especially before spraying very sensitive crops.
• Rinse, clean, and decontaminate equipment according to specified procedures.

DECONTAMINATION:

• Use an alkali detergent or chlorine bleach for decontamination.
• Rinse water should be discharged onto a designated disposal area or unused land away from desirable plants and water courses.
