- Add the recommended amount to the spray tank during the filling operation.
- Apply 70–450 L of water per hectare (broadcast basis) depending on soil type.
- Spray and incorporate into the soil in one operation under hot conditions.
- Use a properly calibrated standard low-pressure 170-340 kilopascal boom-type sprayer with flat fan tips.
Tank Mixtures:
- Read and follow all label directions for tank mix products.
- DO NOT apply when wind speed is less than 3 or more than 20 km/h at the application site.
Conditions for Best Results:
- Thorough incorporation is essential.
- Soil should be well worked and free of weeds at the time of application.
- Loss of effectiveness may occur with inadequate incorporation, high organic matter, excess clods, crop residues, stones, or foreign matter.
- Trifluralin is volatile; incorporate without delay under hot conditions.
- Use a properly calibrated standard low-pressure boom-type sprayer with flat fan tips.
Integrated Weed Management:
- Use in conjunction with Integrated Weed Management techniques.
- Agronomic practices reducing the weed seed bank will enhance weed control.
- Failure to use Integrated Weed Management practices may require additional herbicide treatments.
Wild Oats:
- Germinating wild oats seeds on the soil surface will not be controlled.
- Shallow cultivation is necessary for specific wild oat control.
- Poor control on self-mulching soils and deep-cultivated soil types.
Equipment Maintenance and Usage:
- Preferably keep the spray unit for herbicides only.
- Thoroughly rinse tanks, pumps, lines, and nozzles with clean water following application.
- Use Spraymate Tank & Equipment Cleaner to remove Trifluralin stains.
