GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Weed Control:

MIXING:

  • Half-fill the spray tank with water.
  • Add the required amount of Macspred Clopyralid.
  • Complete filling the tank and agitate continuously for thorough mixing before and during application.
  • Mix only the amount needed for each day's work.

Tank Mixtures:

  • Add wettable powder or dry flowable formulations first, followed by suspension concentrates (flowables), aqueous concentrates, and emulsifiable concentrate formulations (e.g., Haloxyfop or MCPA LVE).

Compatibility:

  • Macspred Clopyralid is compatible with various herbicides, including broadleaf and grass herbicides.

APPLICATION - BOOM SPRAYING CROP and PASTURES:

  • Apply in sufficient water for good coverage using an accurately calibrated ground rig or aircraft.
  • Deliver 200 to 300 micron droplets, not less than 50L/ha for boom sprayers or not less than 20L/ha for aerial applications.
  • Adjust spray volume for specific targets such as hardhead thistle or silver wattle.

HIGH VOLUME HAND GUN:

  • Apply the recommended mix for full coverage of leaves and stems using a No. 6-8 tip at 700 to 1500 kPa.
  • Adjust spray volume based on the density of the infestation.

CLEANING SPRAY EQUIPMENT:

  • Rinse water should be discharged onto a designated disposal area or, if unavailable, onto unused land away from desirable plants and watercourses.

PARTIAL CLEANING (before spraying other labeled or tolerant crops):

  • After use, empty the tank and drain the system.
  • Thoroughly wash inside the tank, circulate clean water through the pump, line, hoses, and nozzles. Repeat the procedure twice.

COMPLETE CLEANING (before spraying susceptible crops):

  • After use, empty the tank and drain the system.
  • Thoroughly wash inside the tank, circulate clean water, drain, and quarter-fill the tank.
  • Add a liquid alkali detergent at 500mL/100L water and circulate for at least fifteen minutes.
  • Drain, remove filters and nozzles, clean separately, rinse the tank thoroughly, and flush the system with clean water.

Resistance Warning:

  • Macspred Clopyralid 300 Herbicide is a Group I herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes may be resistant, and strategies to minimize resistance risk are available.

Protections:

  • DO NOT apply under conditions that may cause spray drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops.
  • DO NOT apply Macspred Clopyralid to crops or pastures intended for compost or mulch production.
  • Plant back periods for susceptible crops should be observed.
  • DO NOT graze or cut treated crops for stock food except as specified under WITHHOLDING PERIODS.
  • Macspred Clopyralid has low toxicity to various organisms, and care should be taken to avoid contamination of waterways.
