GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS – Fungicide Resistance Warning:

Magnate 500EC

Fungicide Resistance Warning: Magnate is classified as a DMI group fungicide and, for fungicide resistance management, it falls into Group 3. There is a possibility of naturally occurring individual fungi developing resistance to Magnate and other Group 3 fungicides due to genetic variability in fungal populations. If these fungicides are used repeatedly, resistant fungi may dominate the population, leading to a reduction in efficacy and potential yield loss. Colin Campbell (Chemicals) Pty, Ltd. accepts no liability for losses resulting from the failure of Magnate to control resistant fungi.

Mixing in Water:

  1. Create a premix of at least 5 parts water to one part product and stir thoroughly.
  2. Fill up to the required volume with water and agitate.
  3. The emulsion will remain stable if agitated every four hours.

Mixing in Wax:

  1. Create a premix of at least 5 parts wax to one part product and stir thoroughly.
  2. Add the premix to the wax and stir until possible creaming has disappeared.
  3. Constant agitation in the wax is advisable during application.
  4. Magnate, at the indicated rate, has curative (up to a maximum of 24 hours) and preventative action. At higher use rates, it exhibits antisporulating properties.
  5. For disease control in citrus fruit, it is not necessary to apply consecutive applications of Magnate using both methods. One application in water or wax at the label rate is sufficient.

Compatibility:

  • Compatible with most fungicides, including iprodione (Ippon).
  • Conduct small tests initially due to the diversity of field conditions.

Protection of Livestock:

  • DO NOT feed treated produce or byproducts to food-producing animals, including poultry.

Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:

  • DO NOT contaminate ponds, rivers, waterways, or dams with the chemical or used container.

Storage and Disposal:

  • Store in the closed original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal. Add rinsings to the spray tank.
  • DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemical on-site. If recycling, replace the cap and return clean containers to the recycler or designated collection point.
  • If not recycling, break, crush, or puncture and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt.
  • Dispose of spent treatment solutions in a suitable waste pit, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation, and tree roots.

Safety Directions:

  • Harmful if swallowed. Will irritate the skin and damage eyes. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
  • When opening the container and preparing the solution, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck or wrist (or equivalent clothing), elbow-length PVC gloves, and goggles.
  • If the product comes in contact with the eyes, wash it out immediately with water.
