GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

FARMALINX METALAXYL + COPPER OXYCHLORIDE WP FUNGICIDE

  • This fungicide combines the systemic and curative properties of metalaxyl with the protective properties of copper oxychloride.
  • Apply FARMALINX METALAXYL + COPPER OXYCHLORIDE WP preventively before the occurrence of Downy Mildew disease. If infection has already occurred, apply as soon as possible after the infection period and preferably before oilspots appear for optimal control.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING

  • FARMALINX METALAXYL + COPPER OXYCHLORIDE WP is a combination of a Phenylamide and a Multisite Activity Fungicide, categorized as both a Group 4 and a Group M1 fungicide for fungicide resistance management.
  • There is a risk of naturally occurring individual fungi developing resistance to this fungicide and other Group 4 and/or Group M1 fungicides due to normal genetic variability within fungal populations.
  • Continuous use of these fungicides may lead to the dominance of resistant fungi, not controlled by FARMALINX METALAXYL + COPPER OXYCHLORIDE WP, resulting in reduced efficacy and possible yield loss.
  • Detection of resistant fungi before use is challenging, and FARMALINX Pty. Ltd. disclaims liability for losses resulting from the failure of this fungicide to control resistant fungi.

MIXING

  • FARMALINX METALAXYL + COPPER OXYCHLORIDE WP is a wettable powder formulation packed in water-soluble packaging. The water-soluble bags dissolve easily in water. Avoid excessive handling or exposure to moisture.
  • Follow these steps for mixing:
    1. Partially fill the spray tank with water.
    2. Add the required number of water-soluble bags (or premix bags in a bucket and add slurry to the spray tank).
    3. Ensure the agitation system is engaged without the bag entering the filter system.
    4. Top up with the correct volume of water, ensuring the bag is completely dissolved before spraying. Continue agitation to keep the fungicide in suspension.
    5. Do not store the prepared spray solution. If it stands, thoroughly re-agitate before use.

APPLICATION

  • Application in tree and vine crops:

    • Dilute Spraying: Use a sprayer designed for high water volumes up to the point of runoff, matched to the crop. Apply sufficient water to cover the crop without excessive runoff.
    • Concentrate Spraying: Use a sprayer designed for concentrate spraying, applying water volumes less than those required for runoff. Set up and operate the sprayer to achieve even coverage.
  • Determine appropriate dilute spray volume and mixing rate for concentrate spraying based on crop canopy and chosen water volume. The example provided illustrates the calculation process.

Ensure thorough coverage, and adjust spray volumes and equipment setup as the crop grows.
