GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: METOR 960 EC FARMALINX

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING: METOR 960 EC is a Group K Herbicide, part of the amide group with diverse sites of action. Resistance management is crucial to prevent dominant populations of resistant weeds. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes may be resistant to METOR 960 EC and other Group K herbicides. Effective control depends on strategies and alternative treatments.

  • Advice: Seek advice from local suppliers, consultants, Department of Agriculture, Primary Industries, or a FARMALINX representative for strategies and alternative treatments.

USES: METOR 960 EC is a short residual, pre-emergent herbicide designed for the control of many annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It is not effective against important broadleaf weeds in Maize, Sweet Corn, and Concep† II treated Sorghum. When mixed with Farmalinx Atrazine 600, it provides control without herbicide carryover issues.

  • Mode of Action: Acts mainly through shoot (coleoptile) absorption.
  • Effectiveness: Depends on rainfall or irrigation to move it into the top 3 to 4 cm of soil during weed germination.

APPLICATION:

  • Ground Application: Apply in a minimum of 60 L/ha of water. DO NOT apply by aircraft.

MIXING:

  • Add the required amount directly to the spray tank, fill with water, and mix well.

COMPATIBILITY: METOR 960 EC is compatible with various herbicides and insecticides including prometryn/fluometruron, Cotoran SC, Farmalinx Atrazine 600, Farmalinx Atrazine 900, Prometryn 500 Flowable, Farmalinx METOR 960 EC Triafon, Farmalinx Parquat 250, and Sixgun (glyphosate).

  • Caution: Do not use in situations where conditions may lead to planting into dry soil or soil with marginal moisture.

COTTON WARNING: METOR 960 EC should not be used in situations where heavy rain or flood irrigation occurs soon after planting cotton. These conditions, along with below-average soil temperatures, can result in crop injury.

  • Crop Retardation Warning: Crop retardation may occur in Brassica crops on soils with low organic matter content and more than 60% of fine sand and silt, and less than 5% clay in the top 30 cm. Use recommended rates and apply onto moist soil.

  • Limit Irrigation: Irrigation after application should be limited to no more than 25 mm.

ZERO-TILLAGE WARNING: When using knife points and zero-tillage and leaving a seeding slot, do not apply post-seeding unless harrows or similar equipment have tilled-in the seeding slot before application.

SOIL SUITABILITY:

  • METOR 960 EC should not be used on soils containing less than 5% clay in the top 30 cm.
  • Do not use more than once per year.

PROTECTION AND DRIFT WARNING:

  • Protection of Crops: Do not plant crops other than specified ones within 6 months of METOR 960 EC application.
  • Drift Warning: Do not apply under conditions that may cause drift onto nearby susceptible plants, crops, or pastures.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK:

  • Do not graze or cut sweet potato leaves for stock food.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS, AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Do not contaminate streams, rivers, or waterways with the chemical or used containers.

RE-ENTRY PERIOD:

  • Do not enter treated areas until the spray has dried.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:

  • Triple or preferably pressure rinse containers before disposal.
  • Do not store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.
  • Dispose of containers through recycling or bury empty containers in a designated disposal pit, following regulations.
  • Do not burn empty containers or product.
