GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Nufarm Striker is a selective herbicide designed for controlling certain annual grasses and broadleaf weeds. It is suitable for use in dormant apples, grapes, peaches, pears, plums, apricots, almonds, macadamia, dubosia, tobacco, coffee, pyrethrum, winter cereals, tropical/sub-tropical crops, brassicas, Eucalyptus and Pinus spp., and other forestry trees.

Application:

  • Apply as a ground spray directed at the base of crop plants.
  • Use a calibrated, standard low-pressure herbicide sprayer with a flat fan or hollow cone nozzle.
  • For bare soil application, use 250 to 500 L of water/ha. For seedling weeds (4 to 6 leaf stage), use 250 to 1,350 L/ha. Adjust water volume for weed density.
  • Thoroughly cover both weed foliage and soil surface for maximum knockdown effect.

Timing:

  • Apply to soil surface before weed emergence after completing all other agricultural operations.
  • For optimum residual weed control, avoid disturbing the treated area during the desired weed control period.
  • Weed control for up to 6 months is expected, but spot treatment with knockdown herbicides may be necessary.

Mixing:

  • Shake well before use.
  • When using Nufarm Striker alone, fill the spray tank at least one-third full with clean water, add the recommended amount of Nufarm Striker while the pump and agitator are running, then complete filling the spray tank.
  • Add a non-ionic surfactant (e.g., Activator Surfactant) if recommended, near the end of the filling process to minimize foaming.
  • When tank mixing with other herbicides, follow proper sequence and refer to appropriate labels for directions.

Crop Safety:

  • Apply around dormant trees and grape vines. Rates of less than 1 L/ha can be applied to trees and grape vines of all ages. At rates of 3 L/ha and above, apply to trees and grape vines at least 3 years of age.
  • DO NOT apply once bud swell has occurred at rates greater than 1 L/ha.
  • Duboisia seedlings and mature plants tolerate "over-the-top" applications.

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING:

  • Nufarm Striker is a Group 14 herbicide (diphenyl ether group).
  • It has the inhibitor of protoporphyrinogen oxidase mode of action.
  • Weed resistance may occur through normal genetic variability.
  • Monitor for resistant weeds; they will not be controlled by Nufarm Striker.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Compatible with various herbicides including Nufarm Crucial, Nufarm Glyphosate CT, Nufarm weedmaster DST, and others. Check the label for specific information.

PROTECTION AND SAFETY:

  • DO NOT apply under conditions causing spray drift onto water bodies, susceptible plants/crops, or pastures.
  • Use with care in areas frequented by livestock.
  • Highly toxic to wildlife and fish; avoid contamination of streams or watercourses.
  • Store in a cool, well-ventilated area. DO NOT store in direct sunlight.
  • Triple-rinse non-refillable containers before disposal.
  • Follow safety precautions, including wearing protective clothing, when handling and applying.
