GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: OCTAVE WP FUNGICIDE

PRODUCT OVERVIEW: Octave WP Fungicide belongs to the imidazole group of fungicides and is a Group 3 fungicide. It is effective for fungicide resistance management. However, caution is required as naturally occurring fungi resistant to Octave and other Group 3 fungicides may exist.

MIXING:

  1. Mushrooms (Pre-casing Application):

    • Mix with water used to wet the peat and incorporate with the casing material.

    • Ensure even distribution.

  2. Spray Application for Lettuce, Proteas, Strawberry Runners, Violas:

    • Pre-mix the powder in a small volume of water.

    • Add the premix to the required water volume in the spray tank with the agitator running for thorough mixing.

  3. Mangoes:

    • Pre-mix the powder in a small volume of water.

    • Add this premix to three-quarters of the required water volume in the spray tank.

    • Add mancozeb product and complete filling the tank.

    • Continue agitating while spraying; do not let the spray mix stand overnight.

APPLICATION:

  • Even and thorough coverage of the target area is essential for good disease control.

  • Use appropriate spray equipment and adequate water volume for penetration and coverage.

  • Equipment settings and water volume may vary based on the crop's growth stage.

DILUTE SPRAYING (For Mangoes):

  • Use a sprayer designed for high spray volumes, up to the point of run-off.

  • Set up the sprayer for even coverage, applying sufficient spray volume to cover the crop to the point of run-off.

  • Determine the required spray volume through tests or industry guidelines.

  • Add the specified product amount per 100 L of water and spray to the point of run-off.

CONCENTRATE SPRAYING (For All Crops):

  1. Use a sprayer designed for concentrate spraying.

  2. Set up and operate for even coverage with the chosen spray volume.

  3. Determine an appropriate dilute spray volume for the crop canopy to calculate the concentrate mixing rate.

  4. Calculate the concentrate rate using the concentration factor (e.g., 3X).

  5. Adjust spray volume, product amount, and sprayer setup as the crop grows.

  6. DO NOT exceed a concentrate rate higher than 5X.

COMPATIBILITY: The product is compatible with various chemicals, including dimethoate, mancozeb, carbaryl WP, demeton-S-methyl, methomyl, fenbutatin oxide, methiocarb, and dicofol.

PRECAUTIONS:

  • Re-entry Period:

    • DO NOT enter treated areas until the spray deposits have dried.

    • Wear appropriate protective clothing when prior entry is necessary.

  • Drift Warning:

    • DO NOT apply under conditions causing spray drift onto adjacent crops, crop lands, pastures, or livestock.

  • Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:

    • Toxic to fish; avoid contamination of streams, rivers, or waterways.

    • Promptly clean up spillages.
