GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - CONTINUED:

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING - GROUP G HERBICIDE:

  • Offend 240 Herbicide belongs to the Diphenyl ether group (Group G) of herbicides.
  • Its mode of action is to inhibit protoporphyrinogen oxidase.
  • Group G herbicides, including Offend 240, may face resistance issues; use in conjunction with resistance management strategies.

TIMING:

  • Apply Offend 240 Herbicide to the soil surface before weed emergence, following all other agricultural operations.
  • For optimal residual weed control, avoid disturbing or incorporating the treated soil.
  • Weed control for up to 6 months can be expected, but spot treatments with knockdown herbicides may be necessary.

MIXING:

  • Shake Offend 240 Herbicide well before use.
  • When used alone, fill the spray tank one-third full with water, add Offend 240 Herbicide while the pump and agitator are running, then complete filling the tank.
  • Add a non-ionic surfactant if required by label directions near the end of the filling process to minimize foaming.
  • When tank mixing with Oryalin 500, add to one-third filled tank, then add Offend 240 Herbicide during filling.
  • For mixtures with Glyphosate, Kwicknock 250 Herbicide, Paraquat 250, or Diquat 200, add these after Offend 240 during the filling operation.
  • Always refer to appropriate labels when mixing and follow all directions.

APPLICATION:

  • Apply Offend 240 Herbicide as a ground spray directed at the base of crop plants.
  • Use a standard low-volume pressure herbicide sprayer with flat fan or hollow cone nozzles.
  • Ensure thorough coverage of seedling weed foliage for maximum knockdown effect.
  • Apply 250 to 500 liters per hectare for treatments on bare soil.
  • For seedling weeds (4 to 6 leaf stage), apply 250 to 1350 liters per hectare; use higher volumes for high weed density.

CROP SAFETY:

  • Apply as directed around dormant peach, plum, apricot, almond, apple, and pear trees, and grapevines of all ages at rates below 1.0 L/ha.
  • For rates of 3.0 L/ha and above, apply to trees and grapevines at least 3 years old.
  • Avoid application once bud swell has occurred at rates greater than 1.0 L/ha.
  • Duboisia seedlings and mature plants tolerate "over-the-top" applications.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • Offend 240 Herbicide is compatible with Glyphosate, Oryzalin 500, Kwicknock 250, Paraquat 250, Diquat 200, and Glufosinate.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE, AND NON-TARGET PLANTS:

  • Avoid application under weather conditions causing drift onto susceptible areas.

PROTECTION OF LIVESTOCK:

  • Use with care in areas frequented by livestock.

PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS, AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Highly toxic to wildlife and fish.
  • Avoid contamination of water bodies, especially lakes, ponds, streams, rivers, or waterways.

STORAGE AND DISPOSAL:

  • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area; avoid prolonged sunlight exposure.
  • Rinse containers before disposal; recycle if possible.
  • Dispose of rinsate in the spray tank; do not dispose of undiluted chemical on-site.
