WHEAT
Disease: Leaf rust (Puccinia recondita)
Rate/ha: 500-1000mL
Critical Comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and preferably prior to development of high levels of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and completion of flag leaf emergence (Z32-41) if disease is present or conditions favour disease development. Apply at the higher rate when disease pressure is high. Apply a maximum of 1000mL/ha/crop when applying by air.
DO NOT apply later than Z59 as yield responses are unlikely

Disease: Stripe rust (Puccinia striiformis), Stem rust (Puccinia graminis f.sp.tritici), Septoria nodorum blotch (Phaeosphaeria nodorum)
Rate/ha: 500mL
Critical Comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and preferably prior to development of high levels of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and completion of flag leaf emergence (Z32-41) if disease is present or conditions favour disease development.
Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if infection occurs early. Regularly monitor the crop from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.
DO NOT apply later than Z59 as yield responses are unlikely.

Disease: Powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f.sp.tritici)
Rate/ha: 500mL
Critical Comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and preferably prior to development of high levels of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and completion of flag leaf emergence (Z32-41) if disease is present or conditions favour disease development.
Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if infection pressure persists. Regularly monitor the crop from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.
DO NOT apply later than Z59 as yield responses are unlikely.

BARLEY
Disease: Leaf rust (Puccinia hordei)
Rate/ha: 500mL
Critical Comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and preferably prior to development of high levels of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and completion of flag leaf emergence (Z32-41) if disease is present or conditions favour disease development.
DO NOT apply later than Z59 as yield responses are unlikely.
Spot form of net blotch
(Pyrenophora teres
f. sp. maculata)
Net form of net blotch (Pyrenophora teres
f. sp. teres) 500-1000mL Apply when conditions favour disease development and preferably prior to development of high levels of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and completion of flag leaf emergence (Z32-41) if disease is present or conditions favour disease development. Use the higher rate when disease pressure is high. Apply a maximum of 1000mL//ha/crop when applying by air.
DO NOT apply later than Z59 as yield responses are unlikely.

Disease: Leaf scald (Rynchosporium secalis)
Rate/ha: 500mL
Critical Comments: Apply when conditions favour disease development and preferably prior to development of high levels of disease in the crop. Aim to apply between stem elongation and completion of flag leaf emergence (Z32-41) if disease is present or conditions favour disease development.
Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if infection pressure persists. Regularly monitor the crop from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.
DO NOT apply later than Z59 as yield responses are unlikely.

Disease: Powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei)
Use the higher rate when disease pressure is high. Apply a maximum of 1000mL/ha/crop when applying by air. Repeat spraying may be required, particularly if the low rate is used and infection pressure persists. Regularly monitor the crop from 3-4 weeks after the first application for signs of re-infection.

NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION.

WITHHOLDING PERIODS
GRAZING: DO NOT GRAZE OR CUT FOR STOCK FOOD FOR 3 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION.
HARVEST: NOT REQUIRED WHEN USED AS DIRECTED.
Livestock destined for export markets: The grazing withholding period only applies to stock slaughtered for the domestic market. Some export markets apply different standards. To meet these standards, ensure that in addition to complying with the grazing withholding period, the Export Slaughter Interval is observed before stock are sold or slaughtered.

Export Slaughter Interval (ESI)
AFTER OBSERVING THE WITHHOLDING PERIOD FOR GRAZING OR CUTTING FOR STOCKFOOD, LIVESTOCK THAT HAVE BEEN GRAZED ON OR FED TREATED CROPS SHOULD BE PLACED ON CLEAN FEED FOR 3 DAYS PRIOR TO SLAUGHTER.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Opera Fungicide is a broad spectrum contact and systemic fungicide. It is taken up via the stem and foliage and is translocated upwards and outwards to provide protection to new growth. Thorough coverage of the crop is necessary for best results.
Check the crop regularly for any symptoms of disease infection. Apply as soon as disease is present as indicated in the Directions for Use.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE WARNING
GROUP 3 11 FUNGICIDE
Opera is a member of the DMI and strobilurin groups of fungicides. For fungicide resistance management the product is a Group 3 and Group 11 fungicide. Some naturally occurring individual fungi resistant to the product and other Group 3 and Group 11 fungicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any fungal population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the fungal population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi will not be controlled by this product or other Group 3 or Group 11 fungicides, thus resulting in a reduction in efficacy and possible yield loss. Since the occurrence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to use, BASF Australia accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant fungi.

MIXING
Opera Fungicide is a suspo-emulsion formulation. The addition of a non-ionic surfactant at recommended rates may assist in providing better coverage of sprayed surfaces. Add the product to the half filled spray tank while agitating. Continue to agitate while topping up the tank and during spraying.

APPLICATION
Ground Application
Apply in a water volume of between 80 and 100L/ha, using flat fan nozzles operating at around 50cm above the top of the crop. Use the higher water volume in crops with heavier canopies.
Aerial Application
Opera should be applied in a spray volume of 20 to 30L/ha and the aircraft calibrated to provide maximum coverage using MEDIUM droplet size to minimize off-target drift.

RE-ENTRY PERIOD
DO NOT allow entry into treated areas until the spray has dried, unless wearing cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing) and chemical resistant gloves. Clothing must be laundered after each day’s use.
