A pre-emergent herbicide for the control of certain broadleaf and grass weeds in the rotational crops of field peas, lupins, chickpeas, green beans, navy beans, sweet corn, corn, green peas, pumpkins and kabocha and post-emergent control of various weeds in poppies as specified in the DIRECTIONS FOR USE table.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
RESTRAINTS
DO NOT apply through aircraft or irrigation equipment. DO NOT apply if heavy rain is expected within 48 hours.
After spraying, DO NOT irrigate to the point of run-off within 48 hours of application. DO NOT apply to areas that may be prone to waterlogging.

SPRAY DRIFT RESTRAINTS
DO NOT apply with spray droplets smaller than a MEDIUM spray droplet size category according to nozzle manufacturer specifications that refer to the ASAE S572 Standard or the BCPC Guideline.
DO NOT apply when wind speed is less than 3 or more than 20 kilometres per hour as measured at the application site. DO NOT apply during surface temperature inversion conditions at the application site.
Users of this product MUST make an accurate written record of the details of each spray application within 24 hours following application and KEEP this record for a minimum of 2 years. The spray application details that must be recorded are: 1 date with start and finish times of application; 2 location address and paddock/s sprayed; 3 full name of this product; 4 amount of product used per hectare and number of hectares applied to; 5 crop/situation and weed/pest; 6 wind speed and direction during application; 7 air temperature and relative humidity during application; 8 nozzle brand, type, spray angle, nozzle capacity and spray system pressure measured during application; 9 name and address of person applying this product. (Additional record details may be required by the state or territory where this product is used.)

MANDATORY NO-SPRAY ZONES
DO NOT apply if there are aquatic and wetland areas including aquacultural ponds, surface streams and rivers within 100 metres downwind from the application area.
DO NOT apply if there are sensitive crops, gardens, landscaping vegetation, protected native vegetation or protected animal habitat within 50 metres downwind from the application area.

FIELD PEAS, LUPINS, CHICKPEAS
Weeds Controlled: Annual ryegrass (Lolium rigidum) Control in low weed populations only and Suppression in higher weed populations (See critical comments).
Rate/ha: 1.0 L
Critical Comments: OUTLOOK has demonstrated annual ryegrass control in low weed populations only (<100 plants/m2) – use in higher weed populations will only yield suppression.
Apply as late as possible before sowing and sow with a knifepoint and press-wheel seeder, before weeds germinate. Weeds that have emerged or that emerge soon after application are unlikely to be controlled. A post-emergent herbicide treatment that offers control of annual ryegrass may be needed to control escapes and late germinations of annual ryegrass.
Maintain slow to moderate speed of sowing to ensure that soil throw is not into adjacent furrows.
Apply to moist soil if possible. If applied to dry soil, rain must follow within 7 days for best results.
OUTLOOK is mainly absorbed by the emerging shoot (coleoptile). OUTLOOK must be present in the top soil layer as the weeds germinate so that the coleoptiles pass through treated soil.
Tank mixes with either Stomp, trifluralin, triallate, simazine or atrazine may aid in reducing ryegrass plant numbers, especially where populations are high (>100 plants/m2) Application to crop trash covering the soil surface may lead to reduced control.
Growers are advised to send ryegrass seed samples for resistance testing before using this product and/or formulating a weed management strategy – knowledge of the resistance status of paddocks where this product is to be used is critical.
Weed management strategies should include multiple control measures. The use of herbicides is but one of these practices. Failure to do so may increase the potential for resistant populations to develop.

POPPIES
(2 – 6 leaf stage)
POST-EMERGENCE 
Weeds Controlled: Pinkweed / Fumitory (Fumaria spp), Cotyledon to 2 leaf stage
Rate/ha: 1.4 L
Critical Comments: Apply OUTLOOK when the pinkweed is at the cotyledon to 2 leaf stages and the crop is at the early 2 leaf to 6 leaf stages. A follow-up spray of Starane must be applied within 15 days for complete control of pinkweed. For improved post-emergent control of other weeds, such as hogweed (Polygonum aviculare), fat hen (Chenopodium album) and blackberry nightshade (Solanum nigrum), Command Herbicide should be tank mixed with OUTLOOK. Do NOT tank mix OUTLOOKwith Brodal.

SWEET CORN, CORN (MAIZE) GREEN BEANS, NAVY BEANS, GREEN PEAS, PUMPKINS, KABOCHA
PRE-EMERGENCE
Weeds Controlled: Toad Rush (Juncus bufonius)
Rate/ha: 150 to 200 mL
Critical Comments: Apply at or immediately after sowing and before crops and weeds emerge. Apply to moist soil. Rain or irrigation following application is desirable. Use rates toward the higher end of the range where longer residual control is required.

Critical Comments: OUTLOOK is mainly absorbed by the emerging shoot (coleoptile). OUTLOOK must be present in the top soil layer as the weeds germinate and the coleoptiles pass through the treated soil layer. Apply at or immediately after sowing and preferably before crops and weeds germinate. Emerged, or soon to emerge, weeds present at the time of application are unlikely to be controlled. Delays in applying OUTLOOK after sowing, particularly if irrigation or rain moistens soil and initiates germination before the application of OUTLOOK, will lead to reduced control.
Apply to moist soil if possible. If applied to dry soil, irrigation or rain must follow soon after application for best results. Irrigation or rain is required within 7 days after application.
OUTLOOK is best applied to freshly prepared soil with fine tilth and as soon as possible after sowing.
Use the lower rate on light textured, low organic matter, low CEC soils and the higher rate on heavier textured soils as per the tables below. Refer to CROP SAFETY section.
OUTLOOK can be used on trickle irrigated fields if rain or overhead irrigation follows application or the trickle irrigation sufficiently moistens the soil surface.
Untreated soil thrown onto treated areas will reduce weed control. Do not disturb the OUTLOOK treated soil layer as this may lead to weed emergence.
Application to crop trash covering the soil surface may lead to reduced control.
Do not use on soil in which crops will be transplanted nor over already transplanted crops.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
OUTLOOK is a selective pre-emergent herbicide for the management of certain broadleaf and grass weeds in field peas, chickpeas and lupins, green beans, navy beans, sweet corn, corn, green peas, pumpkins and kabocha. OUTLOOK is also a selective post-emergent herbicide for management of various weeds in poppies. OUTLOOK manages susceptible germinating seedlings before or soon after they emerge. OUTLOOK will not control emerged weeds except cotyledon to two leaf pinkweed (fumitory) in 2 to 6 leaf poppy crops. OUTLOOK will be most effective when incorporated by rainfall before weeds germinate. Reduced weed control may occur if there is insufficient soil surface moisture.

MIXING
Add the required amount of herbicide directly to the partly filled spray tank with agitation running. Complete filling and maintain agitation until spraying is complete.

APPLICATION
DO NOT apply by aircraft. GREEN BEANS, NAVY BEANS, GREEN PEAS, CORN, SWEET CORN, PUMPKINS,
KABOCHA, POPPIES: Apply OUTLOOK in 200 to 300 L/ha of water as MEDIUM spray droplet size category according to nozzle manufacturer specifications that refer to the ASAE S572 Standard or the BCPC Guideline.
FIELD PEAS, LUPINS, CHICKPEAS: Apply OUTLOOK in 70 to 120 L/ha of water as MEDIUM to COARSE spray droplet size category according to nozzle manufacturer specifications that refer to the ASAE S572 Standard or the BCPC Guideline. Incorporation by Sowing (IBS) with knife or blade points. Use press wheels to avoid dragging treated soil back into the seed furrow. Maintain slow to moderate speed to ensure that soil throw is not into adjacent furrows. Note a. Knife or blade point systems can result in poor weed control in the seed furrow as chemical displacement from this zone occurs. b. A Knife or blade point is 12mm or less, has no wings, inverted T or blade, and is generally placed on a minimum 8 inch (20 cm) tyne spacing. c. DO NOT use with disc openers/planting equipment.

EQUIPMENT CLEAN-UP
Clean application equipment thoroughly using a strong detergent or tank cleaner. Rinse equipment thoroughly before re- use.

COMPATIBILITY
OUTLOOK is compatible with Stomp Herbicides and RoundupTM1 Herbicides as well as trifluralin, triallate, simazine, atrazine, paraquat, and diquat formulations..

RESISTANT WEEDS WARNING
GROUP K HERBICIDE
OUTLOOK Herbicide is a member of the amide group of herbicides. The product has the herbicides with diverse sites of action mode of action. For weed resistance management, the product is a Group K herbicide. Some naturally occurring weed biotypes resistant to the product and other amide herbicides may exist through normal genetic variability in any weed population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the weed population if these herbicides are used repeatedly. These resistant weeds will not be controlled by this product or other amide herbicides. Since the occurrence of resistant weeds is difficult to detect prior to use, BASF Australia Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of this product to control resistant weeds.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND OTHER NON-TARGET PLANTS
DO NOT apply under weather conditions or from spraying equipment that may cause spray to drift onto nearby susceptible plants/crops, cropping lands or pastures.
Plantback/recropping Intervals: DO NOT transplant brassicas, plant potatoes or sow crops other than field peas, lupins, chick peas, green beans, kabocha, green peas, pumpkins, corn and sweet corn within 6 months of application of OUTLOOK. DO NOT sow carrots or pyrethrum within 12 months of application of OUTLOOK.

CROP SAFETY
FIELD PEAS, LUPINS, CHICKPEAS:
Crop safety is maximised by physical separation of OUTLOOK herbicide and the emerging crop. This is achieved by the knifepoint/presswheel seeding system placing the herbicide in the interrow area. OUTLOOK is a soluble herbicide therefore heavy rainfall after seeding may wash the herbicide in the seed row and potentially cause crop damage
GREEN BEANS, NAVY BEANS, GREEN PEAS, CORN, SWEET CORN, PUMPKINS, KABOCHA, POPPIES:
Injury to green beans, kabocha, green peas, pumpkins, corn and sweet corn may occur at label rates on soils with very low cation exchange capacity (CEC). Soils containing low levels of clay and organic matter normally have a low CEC. Do NOT apply to green beans, kabocha, green peas, pumpkins, corn or sweet corn crops grown on soils with a cation exchange capacity (CEC) of less than 5 meq / 100g (or cmol / kg) OR soils with a clay content of less than 10 % AND organic carbon content of less than 2%.
