GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Nufarm Pyroxasulfone 850WG Overview: Nufarm Pyroxasulfone 850WG is a residual, soil-applied, pre-emergence herbicide. It is absorbed by the roots and, to a lesser extent, by the shoots of germinating weeds, inhibiting growth in the meristematic area. Optimal weed control occurs when applied evenly to moist soil just before incorporation by sowing, followed by sufficient rainfall for herbicide uptake by germinating weeds. However, weed control may be reduced under certain conditions, such as buried weed seeds, insufficient soil moisture, or heavy rainfall causing leaching.

Crop Safety:

  • Nufarm Pyroxasulfone 850WG generally shows good crop selectivity if used as directed.

  • Avoid planting durum wheat after application, as it may be severely damaged.

  • When incorporating by sowing with knife points and press wheels, prevent treated soil from entering adjacent crop rows.

  • Avoid using a combination of press wheels and covering devices like harrows or chains during sowing.

Interval Between Application and Sowing: Incorporate by sowing as soon as possible after application, but no later than 3 days after. Delayed incorporation may reduce weed control efficacy.

Sandy Soils: Weed control efficacy may decrease in sandy soils prone to leaching, especially after heavy rainfall post-application and sowing.

Suppression of Great Brome and Wild Oat: Nufarm Pyroxasulfone 850WG is most effective when grass weed seeds are near the soil surface. Partial control or suppression is expected, especially for seeds buried deeply.

Mixing and Application:

  • Ensure sprayer and nozzle filters are clean before mixing.

  • Add Nufarm Pyroxasulfone 850WG directly to the spray tank with agitators in motion.

  • Achieve complete and even spray coverage of the soil.

  • Ground sprayers should be standard boom sprayers with bypass or mechanical agitation.

  • Recommended water volume is 50 to 100 L/ha with COARSE droplet size.

  • DO NOT apply by aircraft.

Sprayer Clean-Up: Thoroughly clean spraying equipment immediately after use to remove all traces of the product. Follow rigorous cleaning procedures if used in tank mixes with other products.

Crop Rotation Recommendations: Minimum recropping intervals have been established to minimize the risk of damage to following crops. These intervals are influenced by rainfall, with extended intervals possible under certain conditions.
