General Instructions:

Uses: Rainbow Metolachlor 960 is a short residual, pre-emergent herbicide effective against many annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in specified crops. It doesn't control certain broadleaf weeds in maize, sweet corn, and Concep* II treated Sorghum. However, when mixed with Atrazine 600g/L, it provides control without herbicide carryover issues. The product primarily acts through shoot absorption, requiring rainfall or irrigation to move it into the top 3 to 4cm of soil for weed germination control.

Application:

  • Ground Application: Apply with a minimum of 60L/ha of water. Avoid aircraft application.

Mixing:

  • Add the required amount directly to the spray tank, fill with water, and mix thoroughly.

To Avoid Crop Damage:

  • Test the product's safety on a small area of the crop, especially in sandy-sandy loam soils with low organic matter. If adverse crop symptoms occur within 14 days of application with irrigation or rainfall, discontinue use.

Compatibility:

  • Rainbow Metolachlor 960 is compatible with various herbicides, including prometryn/fluometruron, Atrazine, glyphosate, and others.

Warnings:

  • Cotton: Avoid use in dry soil or soil with marginal moisture conditions, as heavy rain or flood irrigation after planting, coupled with below-average soil temperatures, can lead to crop injury.

  • Brassica Crops: Crop retardation may occur in soils with low organic matter and specific composition. Apply towards the lower end of the rate range onto moist soil, limiting irrigation after application.

  • Zero-tillage (Canola, Barley, Oats, Wheat, Triticale): When using knife points and zero-tillage, apply before sowing or post-seeding only if the seeding slot is tilled-in with harrows or similar equipment before application.

Usage Restrictions:

  • Soil Type: Do not use on soils containing less than 5% clay in the top 30cm.

  • Frequency: Do not use more than once per year.
