GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: eChem S-Metol 960 Herbicide
Product Overview:
- eChem S-Metol 960 Herbicide is a short residual, pre-emergent herbicide effective against many annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in specified crops.
- The product's action is primarily through shoot (coleoptile) absorption.
- Rainfall or irrigation is crucial for moving the herbicide into the top 3 to 4 cm of soil for effective weed control.
- It does not control important broadleaf weeds in maize, sweet corn, and Concep II treated Sorghum. However, when mixed with Flowable Atrazine, control of many weeds and grasses is achieved without herbicide carryover issues affecting subsequent crops.
MIXING:
- Add the required amount directly to the spray tank.
- Fill the tank with water and mix thoroughly.
APPLICATION:
- Aircraft Warning: Do not apply by aircraft.
- Cotton Warning: Heavy rain, along with below-average soil temperatures post-application, may cause crop injury. Avoid using eChem S-Metol 960 Herbicide in conditions prone to these issues.
- Brassica Crops Warning: Crop retardation may occur in soils with low organic matter (<5% clay in the top 30 cm) and more than 60% fine sand and silt. Apply towards the lower end of the rate range onto moist soil. Limit post-application irrigation to no more than 25 mm.
- Zero-Tillage (Canola, Barley, Oats, Wheat, Triticale):
- When using knife points and zero-tillage, apply before sowing.
- If applying post-seeding, ensure harrows or similar equipment have tilled-in the seeding slot before application.
- Alternatively, apply immediately before sowing.
- Do not use on soils with less than 5% clay in the top 30 cm.
- Do not use more than once per year.
