GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Usage:

  • Sabakem Oxyfluorfen 240 EC® Selective Herbicide is designed for controlling certain annual grasses and broadleaf weeds in various crops, including apples, grapes, peaches, pears, plums, apricots, almonds, macadamia, dubosia, tobacco, coffee, pyrethrum, winter cereals, tropical/subtropical crops, brassicas, onions, Eucalyptus, Pinus spp, and other forestry trees. It can be applied to weed-free soil or seedling weeds at the 4 to 6 true leaf stage.

Resistant Weeds Warning:

  • Belongs to the diphenyl ether group of herbicides with the inhibitor of protoporphyrinogen oxidase mode of action. It's a Group G herbicide. Resistant weed biotypes may exist, not controlled by this herbicide or other Group G herbicides. It's challenging to detect resistant weeds before use.

Timing:

  • Apply before weed emergence after all other agricultural operations are completed. The area should remain undisturbed during the desired weed control period. Young and actively growing seedling weeds are ideal targets. Expect weed control for up to 6 months, but spot treatments with knockdown herbicides may be necessary.

Mixing:

  • Shake well before use. When using alone, fill the spray tank at least one-third full with clean water, add the recommended amount of herbicide while the pump and agitator are running, then complete filling the tank. For tank mixing, follow label directions carefully and maintain agitation during mixing and spraying.

Application:

  • Spray uniformly with an accurately calibrated, low-pressure herbicide sprayer, targeting the base of tree and vine crops using flat fan or hollow cone nozzles. Complete coverage of seedling weeds is necessary for maximum effect. Apply using a vehicle-mounted boom, calibrated to deliver the required droplet spectrum classification defined as medium by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers (ASAE) Standard S572.

Crop Safety:

  • Safe for use around dormant peach, plum, apricot, almond, apple, and pear trees, as well as grape vines, when applied at specified rates. Duboisia seedlings and mature plants, Eucalypt, and pine transplants can tolerate "over-the-top" applications.

Safe Sowing Intervals:

  • Application at certain rates has specific intervals before planting broadacre crops, cotton, soybeans, or undersown pastures to avoid injury to emerging crop seedlings. Plantback intervals must be observed for horticultural crops if the herbicide has been applied at rates greater than 75 mL/ha.
