GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS CONTINUED

Nufarm Sempra Usage: Nufarm Sempra is a water-dispersible granule that disperses in water. It is designed for selective post-emergence control of Nutgrass in Sugarcane, Corn/Maize, Sorghum, Turf (for Nutgrass and Mullumbimby couch), and pasture (for Navua sedge). Additionally, it can be used for Nutgrass control in Cotton with shielded sprayers. To maximize control, Banjo or Supercharge Elite should always be added.

Symptoms of Weed Control:

  • Gradual yellowing of foliage and seed heads.
  • Desiccation follows the initial symptoms.
  • Initial symptoms may take 7 - 10 days to become noticeable, with full effects occurring 4 to 6 weeks after treatment.
  • Apply to actively growing weeds when new growth has reached a minimum of 5 cm for Nutgrass and Navua sedge, or 2 cm for Mullumbimby couch.
  • Apply follow-up treatments if sufficient new growth warrants re-treatment.
  • For Navua sedge, follow-up treatments must be applied 8 - 12 weeks after the first treatment for good control.
  • Irrigation or rainfall within two hours of application may reduce control, and drought stress after treatment may also decrease efficacy.

Mixing:

  • Add Nufarm Sempra gradually to a part-filled spray tank with continuous bypass agitation.
  • Add the surfactant (Banjo or Supercharge Elite) near the end of the filling process to avoid excessive foaming.
  • Remove the hose from the mixing tank immediately after filling to prevent siphoning back into the water source.
  • Use the mixture within one day.

Adjuvant Addition:

  • Nufarm Sempra must be applied with Banjo or Supercharge Elite at 1 L/100L to ensure uptake.
  • For handheld or knapsack application, add Banjo or Supercharge Elite at 100 mL/10L of water.

Sprayer Clean-up: Before applying products other than Nufarm Sempra, clean the sprayer:

  1. Drain the tank and flush equipment with water for a minimum of 10 minutes.
  2. Fill the tank with clean water and add chlorine bleach at 300 mL/100L of water. Flush through the boom and agitate for 15 minutes.
  3. Repeat step 2.
  4. Remove all nozzles and screens and clean thoroughly.
  5. Rinse the tank thoroughly with clean water to remove traces of chlorine bleach.
  • Caution: DO NOT use chlorine bleach with ammonia. Rinse equipment that contained liquid fertilizer with ammonia before adding chlorine bleach to avoid the release of irritating gas.

Compatibility:

  • Nufarm Sempra is compatible with various Nufarm products, including weedmaster DUO, weedmaster DST, weedmaster ARGO, Kamba M, Bromicide MA, Amicide Advance 700, diclofop-methyl, Banjo, Supercharge Elite, and CanDo Adjuvant.
  • Read and follow all label directions, restraints, plant-back periods, withholding periods, regional use restrictions, and safety directions for the tank mix products.
  • Tank mixing with paraquat or ametryn may reduce weed control.
  • Organophosphate insecticides should not be tank-mixed or applied 7 days before or 3 days after applying Nufarm Sempra, as severe crop injury may result.

Precautions:

  • Re-entry Period: Keep people and pets off treated areas until the spray solution has dried.

  • Protection of Crops, Native and Other Non-Target Plants:

    • Avoid spraying non-target vegetation.
    • In turf, do not use clippings from treated areas for mulching around vegetables or fruit trees.
    • DO NOT apply under conditions that may cause spray drift.
  • Protection of Livestock:

    • DO NOT feed grass clippings from treated areas to poultry or other livestock.
    • Avoid grazing treated turf.
  • Protection of Wildlife, Fish, Crustaceans, and Environment:

    • Nufarm Sempra is very highly toxic to duckweed.
    • DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers, or watercourses with the product or used containers.
  • Storage and Disposal:

    • Store in the closed, original container in a cool, well-ventilated area.
    • Triple-rinse containers before disposal, and add rinsings to the spray tank.
    • DO NOT dispose of undiluted chemicals on-site.
    • If recycling, replace the cap and return clean containers to a recycler or designated collection point.
    • If not recycling, bury empty packaging 500 mm below the surface in an approved waste management facility.
