GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Sextant Herbicide Application: Sextant is an emulsifiable concentrate herbicide used post-emergence for controlling specific grass weeds in designated broadleaf crops. It is a systemic herbicide, quickly absorbed, and easily translocated from treated foliage to the root system and growing points of the plant.

Important Notes:

  • Applications to grass weeds under stress due to insufficient moisture or cold temperatures may lead to unsatisfactory control.

Resistance Weeds Warning:

  • Kenso Agcare Sextant is a Group A herbicide, a member of the 'Fop' group of herbicides, with the mode of action as inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase.
  • Weeds resistant to Sextant and other inhibitors of acetyl CoA carboxylase herbicides may exist due to genetic variability. Resistant weeds may dominate if these herbicides are repeatedly used.
  • Kenso Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd assumes no liability for losses resulting from the failure of Sextant to control resistant weeds.

Time of Application:

  • For optimal results, spray weeds when young and actively growing.
  • Application can be made at any crop growth stage (except for cucurbit crops), but ensure sufficient time for the prescribed withholding period before harvest, grazing, or cutting for stockfeed.
  • IMPORTANT: DO NOT apply Sextant to cucurbit crops before the five true leaf stage.

Spray Preparation:

  • Sextant is an emulsifiable concentrate mixed with water for spray application. Add the required amount directly to the spray tank and mix thoroughly.
  • If tank-mixing with Benomyl or Mancozeb, add them to the tank and mix before adding Sextant.

Use of Surfactant/Wetting Agent:

  • Sextant can be used with either of the following adjuvant systems:
    1. Non-ionic surfactant (1000g ac/L strength) at 200mL/100L of final spray volume (0.2% v/v).
    2. Non-ionic surfactant (1000g ac/L strength) at 0.1% v/v and mineral spray oil at 1% v/v.

SAFETY AND STORAGE:

  • Store the original sealed drum in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from prolonged sunlight.
  • Do not tamper with the non-return valve or the security seal on the container.
  • After each use, disconnect the non-return valve, delivery system, and hoses. Rinse them thoroughly with clean water.
  • Return the empty drum to the point of purchase.
  • Safety Directions: Irritating to eyes and skin. Wear appropriate protective gear during preparation and wash hands after use.
