DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

RESTRAINTS:

  • DO NOT treat trees with poor sap flow.
  • DO NOT apply to stressed plants (not actively growing) due to extreme weather conditions, poor nutrition, diseases, or previous herbicide treatment, as reduced control may result.
  • DO NOT apply close to desirable vegetation roots, where soil may be washed to or from susceptible crops or plants.
  • DO NOT burn treated areas for 9 months after application or mechanically clear treated areas for at least 12 months after application.

COMPATIBILITY:

  • AC Shredder Herbicide is compatible with certain adjuvants, including Hasten, Supercharge, and Update Spraying oil.

MIXING:

  • Mix only with water; it will not mix with oil or diesel fuel.
  • Only mix sufficient solution for immediate daily use and avoid storing.

APPLICATION:

A. Stem Injection Application

  1. Mix one part AC Shredder Herbicide with 4 parts clean water. Agitate well before use.
  2. Clean equipment thoroughly and rinse with water after use.

B. High Volume Application

  1. Half-fill the spray unit with water and add AC Shredder Herbicide. Complete filling with agitation.
  2. Add spray oils or wetters if needed.
  3. Maintain mechanical or by-pass agitation during spraying.

APPLICATION METHODS:

A. Stem Injection Application

  1. Waist Height Application:

    • Use a ¾ length axe to create an injection pocket at waist height through the bark.
    • Apply chemical with a calibrated Phillips 5 mL vaccinator immediately after making the dose pocket.
    • Ensure chemical does not run out of the sides of the cut for optimal control.
  2. Ground Level Application:

    • Use a narrow blade axe or a C.M.B. Engineering Tree Injector.
    • Make a cut through bark to sapwood, and inject the dose immediately.
    • Results similar to high volume spraying can be achieved with equipment like Micron Herbi®.

C. High Volume Spraying

  1. Weeds should be actively growing, especially in areas previously treated or disturbed.
  2. Thoroughly cover foliage without excess spraying.
  3. Use appropriate equipment for specific weed situations.
    • Hand Gun (blackberry and gorse):
      • Apply the mix through a No. 6 to 8 tip at 700 to 1500kPa.
      • Use a spray volume of 3000 to 4000L per infested hectare (30 to 40L/100m²).
    • Knapsack (Harrisia cactus):
      • Apply the spray mix for full coverage of all stems from the crown.

CLEANING HIGH VOLUME SPRAY EQUIPMENT:

  • After use, empty the spray equipment, wash thoroughly, and drain the system.
  • Quarter fill with clean water and circulate through the system. Repeat rinsing procedure twice.
  • For decontamination before spraying sensitive crops, use an alkali detergent and circulate for at least 15 minutes.
  • Flush the system with clean water and allow to drain.
